You look at all the exchanges, and see what it's trading at. Right this instant, it's 0.91 at max, and 0.64 at worst.

It was worth .95 less than two hours ago. That's a sharp and dangerous downtrend, and if it settles in the 80s, that's when you'll see the actual shockwaves, which will be far more dramatic and crazy than the flashcrash that just happened.

Remember that if you are a US citizen you are forbidden to own Tether. From their own terms of service:

Don't be fooled by the word "certain". They also state that they will try to weasel out of redeeming USDT for any legal reason (see the quote below). An easy excuse would be that they suspect you are funding terrorism. You also have to be a "fully verified customer" in order to even try redeeming USD (I don't know whatever that actually entails for a non-US citizen).

The BTC doom will follow sooner or later if tether is totally dead. For the moment bots on actual USD/BTC markets are buying BTC non-stop because they aren't smart enough to know USDT is falling on finex rather than BTC going up.

It's actually not Tether. If you deposite USDT to Finex you get USD. If you sell BTC on BTC/USD you get USD. You can choose to withdraw the USD, or withdraw USDT for 1:1 ratio.
