How did you get into this?
I was out at one of the nightclubs and couldn't get cash, so the next morning I literally walked in during the day and asked the guy if he wanted me to set up an ATM inside. I paid for it, and now he gets 30% of each of the sales that occurs at his location.

Didn't need any certification. However my high school job was working for a family friend who owns hundreds of POS systems around tallahassee, pensacola and tampa and I did all the servicing for the machines in tampa. I have also gotten him 10 accounts in tallahassee since I started uni here last year.

Bought it myself and I share profits with the establishment owner.

Yep but I or one of my friends check on all of the machines at least once day and I've shown them how to take them off. I'm reverse engineering them as a little side project.

All of them are in the following locations:

All of these are high traffic, cash businesses that require people to pay in cash or are generally paid in cash. 75-100tx a day at $3 each nets 300 a day from each ATM, minus revenue share from the existing business will net that much easily after expense

Some advice on failure for those eager to quit their job to jump out on their own...
1.) Know your plan inside and out. For whatever service or product you offer, for how great it is, who exactly are you marketing to? Are yoy selling to 45 year old black women? B2B medical? Is there room for growth?
2.) Have the infrastructure for your business (legal, financial, presence) in place before you cut off your source of income. This way, you're immediately ready to get to work on what will replace it (your market).
3.) Timing. Do you have a product that will move at Christmas? Year round? What is the busiest season in your industry?
4.) Cooperate with your competition. You are smaller and less experienced than them, talking badly of them will do you no good. If theyre big enough, they may have too much work on their plate and you might be the perfect one to subcontract out to.

For a sole propiator llc, what do you need to write off an expense? My accountant says itemized receipts and invoices, but I am not real happy with them for other reasons. I thought you could use credit card statements if they were in the name of the business and you only need itemized proof if it is being reimbursed or meal comp or something.

I do game development, not recommended since you need such a large skillset and the people you sell to don't really value the product. There was a time in the early days where you could sell an independently developed game for up to $30 but these days with Steam you're hard pressed to sell something for $10

You need something really good these days, example being the Factorio devs and their game they sell for $30, despite that they get huge backlash because of it.

Games got easier to make over time so the market is really saturated now. That's not to say you can't still make a good game and make money though.

Phone games were never really viable, there was a gold rush when the mobile market first started but it quickly became about who has the most money for advertising.
