I just got my first job. Nothing extraordinary though. I heard investing is basically free money if you're not a retard and diversify your investments. I don't want to get into crypto just yet? Any tips on how to start or promising companies?

See if your job offers a 401k if you're young and don't make a lot of money look into a RothIRA(you should be able to open one with your bank or use vanguard). Investing isn't free money because you can always loose lot of it but if you're holding stocks for years you should eventually come out on top.
