Thats the distributed hash table and is designed to prevent people from cheating, its not your entire chain history. Thats just a notary signing your latest cross signed block and adding it to the DHT. Its not enough information for someone to send you money. You still have to be online.

I think what you are confused about is that there can be an incomplete header on someones.

One party can provide explicit permission in advance, reducing transaction time to milliseconds and eliminating the need to obtain approval from someone. This transforms a process that normally requires synchronous human interaction into one that can be asynchronous and automated. Im reading through the whitepaper. Its actually completely arbitrary based on how they set it up when that application was created. They could re-create bitcoin like you seem to want, or they could do something completely different. Each application on holochain has its own rules about what needs to go on the DHT. So if they set it up so you dont have to sign if thats how they wanted it. It would greatly increase computational overhead on the neighborhood if they did that because its basically just bitcoin at that point.

I copy and pasted the section that the team told me was how offline transactions would work. I don't want it to be any way other then how it works. What I copy and pasted is how it's handled with the token that is on the market currently. The actual "chain" framework lets you do whatever the fuck you want and each contract/app/whatever can have its own parameters.

By KYC I mean you have to pass the "membrane function" as the whitepaper called it. This entire thing operates on trust, so when you join a new coin on holochain someone has to vouch for you. Basically you have to introduce yourself and prove you arent a scammer. Its KYC, know your customer. How they do this is entirely up to the coin itself. It is similar to how it works with an exchange now that I think about it. They need to know you are a real person who isnt going to screw them over. So they either need a very robust membrane, meaning hardcore KYC, or the chain records tons of stuff to the DHT and gets spammed up pretty fast. Without a membrane function its basically bitcoin with half-second blocks. You could spam it to death in no time.
