I used to have this opinion when I was younger but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was a bad idea.

If everyone is comfortable and rich, who in their right mind would do all the shit jobs? We'd have to import 3rd worlders to do them, which would just create a new underclass to replace the old. It would turn an economic problem also into a racial one. So that's a bad solution. We are not yet advanced enough to have robots do it all, and increasing the wages would not be very effective at attracting workers to an absolute shit quality and stressful job if they are already financially comfortable, and any that did go there would see the gains of their newly increased wages disappeared as every business out there would raise it's prices due to the lowest paying jobs out there now making more money. Then everyone would just end up just as poor as before.
