Andre Cronje concluded that Constellation (DAG) is not Horizontally Scalable just by seeing the actor model code (which in his words its arhitectually sexy). He says that finality ignores scalability. This was easily disproved by the fact that his argument missed the whole idea behind dags: transactions can be validated relative to its data locality.

After I talked to him, he believes that a DAG needs 2n/3 network agreement. Which is not true at all because that’s the basic ratio of Byzantine fault tolerance.

So in essence the argument boils down to: does every node have to agree on the same state at the same time in order to be valid.
And they do not. Plain and simple.

In our case, Constellation just need to create an audit trail behind each transaction which allows us to connect every transaction to a globally accepted block. If the tx is invalid they just remove it before it even gets to the level of a global block

Look at vitaik’s recent paper on 99% fault tolerance. Plasma is heavily rooted in the same principal.

Its easy to conclude that Andre is not a stupid guy, which makes me totally sure that he was just ill intended, because he is part of zk snarks project and a technical advisor of Fantom project. Plain and simple.
