Daily reminder that this is the reality wagecucks and other low IQ brainlets constantly experience. Do your best to not end up like them, even if it implies putting your morality and other "human" values (self depreciating lies to keep your head buried in the sand) at the door. Time, with your cognitive abilities, are the most precious resources you can use to your benefit. I'm just reminding you that as you're getting older, your brain is slowly but surely deteriorating. You're lucky to be born in a western society, with a near infinite amount of human knowledge freely available that you can grab and assimilate via a fucking smartphone screen.
No matter what you've found, do everything in your power to escape the hellish lifestyle, if we could call this a lifestyle, depicted in pic related.

Good point. Where I live, no one knows their neighbors, everyone is isolated. No one knows what their local elected officials are doing to fuck them over on a daily basis, let alone what their names are.

Sure, everyone is pissed when the school board of 3 people "unanimously" decides to raise property taxes 20%, but they don't know where to begin stopping them because they have no time. They get mad when the state spends millions of taxpayer dollars on commercials telling people that water is wet. Apathy is the final destination.

This is the norm. A lot of people don't seem to realize and many more just don't care that they are being exploited in such a way.

A normal garrison day as an armoured officer is pretty fulfilling if you have good NCOs. Mind that you will also have a lot of long days that are worse than this, but if you are motivated and love your men it's not that tiring because it just feels like you are looking after your family. Also most of the long days tend to happen before deployments, so you have something to look forward to. I also get 25 days paid vacation a year and make almost 6 figures.

Also during my wagecuck job I used to translate whitepapers of shit ico-s to an obscure Eastern European language, in return for tokens. Also pajeeted my way into signature bounties on bitcointalk... Some translations paid more than 2 BTC per 1 day translation in the beginning (Aeternity, Rise, Monaco) ... Unfortunately this shit doesn't work anymore (nobody cares about ICO-s, you get $20 worth of tokens if you're lucky), niche sites made after 2018 are also a meme ... there's probably some new stuff that replaced my side hustles, but can't help you, I'm focused on my 2013 websites

Most drugs do, but I personally find I can squeeze 10s of hours of subjective ecstatic experience into a 4-5 hour period with enough psychedelics, and I don't feel any worse off the next day/week. if I didn't have harmaline-mediated longform DMT trips into hyperspace to look forward to at least once or twice a month I would probably have necked myself by now. It's a proverbial vacation in a bottle (or pipe, as the case may be).

Also lol at all these sad crabpot fucks in this thread gloating about working 50, 60, 80 hours a week. I cringe, because it's like, fuck dude, it's your life! You're in your early-thirties and you're trivializing your income with gimmicky vocabulary.

Call it passive income, side income, fucking part-time work, "using my coding and copywriting skills for personal projects," anything. Driving for Uber/Postmates is a "side hustle," though it's still cringe-y to say. A hustler is a con artist. The hustle is a 1970s afro-american dance fad. Hustler is a great porno mag. During these 2 years I've been to at least 10 different countries and had plenty of unforgettable experiences, while spending very little money.
If I had kept my job these 2 years would have been boring and grey. It would have passed so fast, doing the same thing everyday.
And the best in all that is that in April 2017 I had plenty of time to research cryptos and invest in ICOs and blockchain projects. In 6 month I made 20 times my salary at my ancient job... I cashed out about 40% of all that in January, at the top.

Investment Banking is boring and gruelling a fuck, it also experienced a massive culture shift. Basically back in 80s and 90s it was equally boring shit and everyone knew it. They also knew you could earn a lot of money and knew how to celebrate.
Now money is limited, celebrating the way it was 20 years ago is a no-no. All the fun people who worked during that times left banking. Only people who still work in IB after 20 years are fucking psychos.

Sales and Trading was also much more fun pre-2008, but regulations came and basically wrecked the market. It's stressful as fuck. Only London keeps it somewhat real as everyone drinks there for fun.

As soon as the market as climbed for some time, and you feel like we're in a 'bullish trend', you need to start selling on a regular basis very small batches. I started selling very early and I kept selling during the climb.
Then when the trend has reversed and is bearish you start buying by small batches.

By doing that you always buy undervalued and sell overvalued, because you have an edge over the people who just follow the market sentiment.

Thank you, that is actually one of the few advices that sound like it can work.

I've never quite found the way to counter the "you can't time the market", been doing what you say on the downtrend which ended up losing me money (unrealized) but never on the way up. I'll try this next.

Since you've been doing banking, what do you think about ETFs and Index funds in general?
Seems like a good way of securing gains but absolutely not for earning a "wage". Should I just use this as an alternative to keeping my money in my bank?

The point isn't how many hours he's spending at work for someone else. It's the very fact of wasting a major part of his lifetime for someone else and complaining about it. I agree with you though, he's a little too whiny for my tastes, but his post is making things perfectly clear and gives a really good insight on the Fresco reality.

>>10867255
He said that he couldn't find the time to do anything else to escape his predicament. I agree however that his choices probably lead him where he is now - but nowhere in his post he said that he was deserving anything else, he's just speaking his mind of something that's actually true. Even people who made it and decided to retire early are perceived as leechers because they "do nothing". Why do you think taxes are getting way higher for the rich in Europe?

>>10867961
>believing in Universal Basic Income
This may be a viable solution in the short term, but it will lead to devastating consequences for society as a whole. And unfortunately, with the alarming progress rate of AI in various sectors, even highly technical ones like medicine, UBI will be imposed by the government in response of the drastic rise in unemployment rates. You think that it will be a nice world but this will basically mean that a new (actually not so new) aristocracy will take place - people with higher IQ's/conceptual intelligence will be the ones deciding the course of your life, your thoughts and many other things, because they would be the ones engineering your technology and the ones ensuring your means of survival.

>Since you've been doing banking, what do you think about ETFs and Index funds in general?

Most of the money I invested in equity is in ETFs. They are good products to build a diversified portfolio at a reasonable cost. And that's all I want to do in equity, I don't want to beat the market, just get the performance of the market is enough to me. I'm already risky enough in cryptos.
(btw I was an ETF market maker during my time at the bank).

>Should I just use this as an alternative to keeping my money in my bank?
For sure. Keeping cash is almost always a bad option.

You're spot on. I do think the pic in the OP is a little whiny, dude makes 20 bucks an hour, I've never made that much and my life would be fine if I did. I had no problem coming home from work, making dinner, shitposting for hours or playing vidya and then going to bed. Only problem is that I was a habitual marijuana smoker. Smoking pot was the only thing that made this reality bearable for me.

Since I quit smoking pot this has become unbearable. Pot was my cope, and now I can't really cope. I don't want to be a degenerate drug user or porn user but the stress is high. I have a gf now but even she seems to add more stress to my life rather than take it off. And because I'm spending all my time with her I can't seem to think properly about future goals or anything.

I really just can't imagine living the rest of my life in this manner. It would be one thing if I was making enough money to buy a house and support a family but it's not. I'd rather work odd jobs and barely pay living expenses but have free time and live frugally

Whatever this dude wishes he was doing with his time it's probably contingent on a lot of wagecucks showing up at the same place at regular intervals. It's actually amazing how reliably everything works, and even though they reeeee when you say it almost everyone takes this shit for granted. If people really want to talk about reductions in work hours then we need to ask what we're willing to give up, but at the end of the day people like having McDonalds around enough to pay for it to keep existing, both with time and money. People will bitch until they're blue in the face about how much they hate working but only have increasing appetites for the modern creature comforts while being less and less willing to give up anything for it. Based. Every now and again I see people post gold here. I've taken that advice and it's serving me really well now. So many redditors are here that I don't like giving advice. But on the off chance there are some people here that aren't reddit drone fags, I'll give you a slight run down.
Just start a side hustle anons. That's the crux of a majority of great advice given here. Start something and aim for the moon as you build your empire.
Here's another piece of valuable advice, your side hustle should be something you're actually able to hustle in. Meaning you should feel natural in regard to your first side hustle at the very least.
Also, final bit of advice. Realize that reddit is cancer where humans are turned into cattle. It's fake kindness and fake humour. Resent it. Turn from its ways. If someone you know goes on reddit, be suspicious of them. If someone makes a joke and says they heard it on reddit, pull out your dick, drag it through broken glass, approach them cautiously yet gently so they don't run away, and start beating them with it. It's the only way you're ever going to make it.

Remember my advice.

thanks for the reply, yeah I might do something like that. The worst part is I actually worked in a call center before and told myself I'd never do it again. I was there for 2.5 years before quitting. It was my first job out of college at a great nonprofit. After a sales job petered out I ended where I am now.

It's in tech support which I thought would be great as I'd be learning more about computers, but I actually feel dumber as a result of doing the job. I don't know how much more I can take, "HAHAH YOULL HAVE TO BE MORE CLEAR IM COMPUTER ILLITERATE LOL" when I ask someone to look at their router

that's what pisses me off so much. Tons of people out there rely on technology without even the slightest understanding of how it works. I get it if your internet is down or you have a legitimate issue, but 90% of it is just people who know nothing about computers. People who don't where the start button is in windows. People who don't know where the alt key is on their keyboard. People who call complaining that their internet doesn't work when they really mean their computer isn't working but what they actually mean is their computer is on but the monitor is turned off. Every day I want to quit.

I told myself it would be okay because it's only around 40 calls per day as opposed to 100+ at my sales job and around 60 to 80 at the old call center job. It's fucked because during the interview they told me around 20 calls a day which would actually not be a big deal. But every day after 4pm til I leave at 730 your phone starts ringing as soon as you hang it up

Precisely this.

Wagie Angst mostly comes from people who have never in their lives known vast stretches of free or mostly-free time, and who assume that it's some magical dream, that if they just had that time they'd climb mountains and write books and fuck women and life would be so wonderful.

But they only think that because they've never actually been in that situation. I have. And it really is not that spectacular. Because the pressure from outside that the 40-hour work week places on you simply gets replaced with a pressure from inside of having to keep your life meaningfully-productive.

If you're un or underemployed, your life doesn't suddenly and automatically become some glorious adventure just because a bunch of time opened up. What tends to actually happen is that you simply follow the path of least resistance (because humans are natural path-of-least-resistance maximizers) and become listless and lazy.

There are ways out of that trap, but learning how to deal with having tons of free time is not necessarily easier than learning how to deal with having little. It's a challenge either way.

If you're not in the US, Singapore, probably Switzerland, or other high income/low tax areas, your first difficult step is probably moving there.

I don't get along with my co-workers/boss because I'm an autistic shut-in

I work as a programmer, currently learning new skills so I can switch to another job, but I secretly just want to quit and hope Link will moon in a year or so

>> No.10876297

I just missed my 8 AM dental appointment because I was sleeping hard after a 12 hour shift yesterday.

I've got about $4,000 free cash every month after living expenses and taxes that I can throw into crypto or other investments. I'm willing to gamble and lose that all if it means I have the chance to semi-retire within the next few years. I can't imagine myself going on like this after I turn 35 no matter how good the pay is.

>About 1 in 20 Americans are millionaires, FYI. So it's doable.

Of the 1.4% that are millionaires (not 5%), most of them have no money - just equity in their home. Most of these are concentrated in large urban areas where $1M equity in their house is like one bedroom, just retard tier bubble shit and not real wealth.

The number of people who have a million dollars to spend is incredibly small, and most of these are short lived: temporary celebrity, athlete, etc., rather than able to retain wealth.

Speaking as a fellow autistic programmer, it's easier to get along with people than you'd think. Just ask how they're doing and follow up on things like it's a dialogue tree you're exploring for content. People love talking about themselves so before you know it they'll be deluging you with information about their parenting style, homebrewing hobby, or own selection of shitcoins.

Do that for five minutes a day and you might enjoy the remaining 475.

This poster's biggest issue is his preoccupation with counting the clock. You can make everything miserious and stifling if you do that. Give yourself some wiggle room, you don't have to stress yourself out about going to bed at 9 every night. I don't have as much free time as I want but I'm not a fucking wreck about it. i recommend you watch some job movies like

wall street
boiler room
..
i can make a list if you want.

get more psyched about working and improving yourself, like work better than others, get pay-rise, get a better position. get things on your CV that you can use to negotiate better salary or change job. apply for jobs outside work so you know u have options. just an example, even if you are cashier at store, you can beep the wares faster than your co-workers (no real competition even) and notice how customers will smile at you more and respect you more. also its possible to jump from job to job if you don't like it. the first month are there for you to test it out and it should be very easy to quit, just make sure you are still doing interviews. you will find one job that you like doing, but you cant be too picky, its a job after all, and life cant only be fun, thats just not how it works.

make the job into your interest. there is always something about it that is interesting.
branch off whatever topic you are working with at home and work with it at home, suddenly it can be a hobby.

there are some personality trait that makes you anti-competitive, but those people would never make this thread, since they just do what they are told. so i assume you are competitive person and these things should motivate you.

also the thing about time is another topic, since that is existentialist crisis stuff, which everyone suffer from. and you just have to understand that you will die someday and everything is temporal. Be religious or just try to ignore it if you think about it. even without a job this is still a problem.

What? You pussies, you should atleast work 60 hours a week you lazy goy. I mean, come on, aspire to be something. If you'd try 70 hours a week you might just get somewhere in life. How else do you think succesful people become succesful? Those 80 hours a week shouldn't be too hard for you, like pfff who needs sleep right?
Once you do those 100hrs a week you might feel sick, tired, you'll start losing hair before you reach your 30's but all doesn't matter. You're contributing to society and, most important, to yourself. Just think of all the nice things you can do.

Retirement? HA that word doesn't exist in my dictionairy. You work till you die, it'll make you feel good and society will love you for it. Why retire at 65/67 when you can go on till your 80? Life is so boring if you have nothing to do. Work will free you. Oh, and dont forget to pay the taxes over your income and dont forget to pay the tax over the products you buy and especially dont forget to pay tax over anything you own that's worth something.

Good goyim, we'll keep society running as long as you keep doing what you're told. Stay in school and work hard, start a family too. We'd like 2-3 children per family, because once you die who's going to be the cattle that we can milk dry? THINK before you act you simple minded subhumans, we know what's best for you, we always have and you've always followed. Why change now?

There we go. There is a rule one needs to follow whenever they encounter a Reddit post like OP's, and it's that most of these people are talentless, low-life, brainfried subhumans that bring most of that shit to themselves. But there's one thing they're pretty good at, and that's whining like little bitches about their unfavorable circumstance while not admitting a shred of personal responsibility.

Why do you think employers treat their workforce so badly? Because the workers are morally upright, good men and women that happen to find themselves in an unlucky predicament, while the bosses are cold-hearted psychos? Get over yourself, it's scum all the way down.

I live with my parents tho, fuck this rat race and fuck people who enable it. There a plenty of resources for people to live in comfort yet here we are.l

No we do not you fucking tard. We waste 40 hours or about half of our time doing shit we do not want to do. How exactly is that fucking the good life?

Fuck off with this BS. I am so fucking pissed I live in Belgium because you have to be full blown autistic here to get any kid of money.

Meanwhile I as a guy with aspergers do not get shit. Can't keep a job? To bad. Not our problem.

I would happily staybatbhome for like 300$ a month but NOooooo. You get 0.000000$ cuz FCK you lazy goy.

Modern society is fucking cancer. I don't want or need fancy thongs if it means I get more free time Ill do due with old and cheap shit.

This is why I don't understand the STEM meme. If working shit hours at a desk for some company is so shit, then why is STEM always slated as the only worthwhile area to study? The same could be said about business degrees, you're going to end up doing menial tasks on a computer for 7-9 hours a day in most cases. My dad is a solicitor but he hates the work, and he has his own practice. Doctors work so many hours that they pass out in overcrowded hospitals and end up doing stims just to stay awake.
I don't know what to say to anyone that's willing to do rat work for their entire life in the name of a higher wage

Look at all these dumb slaves shitting on the slave in the pic of OP because the slave in the pic is treated a bit less bad by his masters.

This is like field niggers hating on house niggers. You're all fucking slaves and you all have it worse than you should. You all produce much more value than you get in return.

Is it better to outright quit, or work halfheartedly until they fire you so you can collect unemployment?

Damn I wish I was you rn. I tried for awhile to get gubmint gibs for my anxiety but to no avail. Working part time at a wagie job is literally super comfy if you have the right job. I have to work full time now to get by but working part time in the mornings and getting off at 10 am was great. Whole day ahead ahead of you to do whatever. Glad you're living the comfy life anon
