I understand patience; what I don't understand is coin economics.

What should I be holding the most of, wise one?

what's the staking for this shit going to be? When people say $1 per coin is that per year? So 1000 OMG is $1000 per year?

I don't know, I haven't made it yet either. But I can say that you should diversify - hold some BTC/ETH, something from the top 20, and some shitcoin moonshots.

That IS what I've done. I feel like this board doesn't respond to the diversify option enough. Maybe that's telling of a good strategy, or maybe we're wrong for not going all-in on LINK.

The big secret in crypto is that nobody knows what the fuck is going on exactly... pretty interesting times, fren.

I still don't understand what this token does. I keep trying to read the whitepaper but the abbreviation OMG distracts me and makes it hard to take it seriously, so I end up doing something else.

Think about it, can a coin called OMG really be a global currency in a few years? This is one of those cases where bad branding hurts the product. I don't care what the goals are or how good the technology is. I'm not surprised it hasn't gone up.

>> No.10848734

>>10848689
It's a staking token for a PoS blockchain, whose main use is to be a dex for tokens, which can either be created directly on it (like fiat backed tokens), or 'imported' from other blockchains.
The main blockchain can be connected to other blockchains with Plasma (that's why they're working on it), but also LN (which is why it's mentioned in the whitepaper).

By holding OMG you validate transactions that go through the network and you are rewarded with a fraction of fees used in transactions. That's the idea but the network isn't live yet

that sounds... very stupid and poorly thought out. wtf.

and when will omisego provide functional scaling of financial services as a 2nd layer with high throughput, trustlessness and quick finality?

I bet omisego won't even be usable before kyber migrates to gormos in Q3 2019. What a waste of mindshare.
