Right , so I ve been trying to get my hands on a skyminer for a week or so and my SkyCoin waiting list confirmation just arrived.
It seems that i m number 9638 on the list but i didn t get any price offer or technical specification . Did anyone go through this process already?

>> No.10816972

I m on that list too and I only managed to research about the price. They say everyone on the waiting list will pay 1 BTC in order to get the miner . The device should be around 600$ and for the rest of the sum you’ll get SKYCoin

The waiting list is only for the standard 8 boards . Don’t think they released a bigger one yet , just have to wait on it

>> No.10817007

Are you really going to wait that long when you have the diy option? You have an open source project and the hardware can be found at almost all computer part suppliers . I use aliexpress and I found all I needed, hope the equipment is the same as in the pictures though

Price prob locked back when 1 BTC was 12k? However, you 'll get the rebate no worries

>> No.10817031

DIY sounds good and assembling the equipment might be easy but given the fact that they promote many things beside the miner that i d be interested in I prefer to take it direcly from them so that I see how they are going about it . Plus the market is down , there are still missing info so i guess by the time the list reaches me I ll be more certain of my choice

Sounds like you got a lot to wait fren. You can buy a or make a DIY. There are some good makers out there, you could purchase a miner from them

>> No.10817057

>>10817029
Why must I give them 1 BTC if the miner costs way less . I think that the miner alone is an investment, let alone buying the rest till 6300 $ in Skycoin . If i m going to sell resources in order to get coins why do I need to buy them before?

>> No.10817093

>>10816952
Yo you can just stalk them, looks like they giveaway a skyminer at each public appearance, problem solved, no investment

>> No.10817107

8 boards provide enough bandwidth and processing power for one location,no need for more really

>> No.10817117

>>10817057
I was thinking about the same thing. I mean I will certainly buy some coins at some point but given that I'm so far from the top of the list I wonder what their policy is on this. I mean do I need to wait for a couple of months before they get to me ? and if the market goes up that means that i ll be getting the coins at that market price? I m more inclined to buy now but I can't invest on both occasions...

>> No.10817126

>>10817057
By doing so you increase the volume of the coin and show support for the project. You can sell the SKY if you don't feel like holding on to it

>> No.10817137

>>10817093
Lol , strange logic . There are like 70000 people or more at a conference and you re saying that 1 person really has a clean shot at getting one .. lol

>> No.10817166

>>10817107
I know that sky is a peer to peer descentralized network and so on ... but it doesn t mean it has to work on a low scale .. that why they are thinking of launching 64 128 256 bord miners , so 8 boards are never enough

>> No.10817208

>>10816952
Till you get to buy their skyminer the coin will have already mooned a couple of times , start investing while market is down and if you re good at it you ll make the BTC you need before the list gets to you

y don't u ask on telegram? or contact devs for details. as far as i know they r pretty responsive

>> No.10817582

>>10817126
selling is not an option now
it would be a foolish move to that now
wait a bit more, will moon soon

>> No.10817613

u can have both of them.
A DIY a an official, when will arrive.
Why wait that much? I recommend a DIY too, my favorite part is the fact that you can have an original design.

Good luck actually getting whitelisted with a DIY. I submitted my application on June 1st and still haven't been whitelisted.

How do you know what number you are on the list?

I think they only do a set number of whitelists a month for DIY

>> No.10818598

>>10817700
200/week
avoiding an overcrowd and preventing the use of bots

>>10817663
go on their official site and u can register for an official. You receive a mail with the number.
if u mean the no in the queue for whitelisting u can ask on telegram by providing your email or u can use the new commander bot, which has also some extra options, like an alarm for your nodes uptime

>> No.10819057

>>10816952
Yea, 8 nodes whitelisted
