You only give a 2 weeks notice if you need references at the job, other than that I see no reason why you would need a 2 weeks notice.

Just sent an anonymous tip to the fbi. They'll probably be at your home in an hour. Scum like you disgust me.

>> No.10698779

They don't buy out your vacation time.

Waste of money unless you use it all up first.

>> No.10698794

What do you mean what happens? 2 weeks is a courtesy. They can fire you at any time, and you can quit at any time.....it's an at will arrangement anon. You though they'd put you in jail or something?

You're violating company policy and directly harming the company on purpose by leaving. You probably don't realize this, but before you were officially hired you signed some paperwork under federal law that requires you to give two weeks notice before quitting. They probably already have a warrant for your arrest now, you might as well turn yourself in

>> No.10699344

>>10698779
That's illegal. Accrued vacation days count as income and they're legally obligated to pay you it when you quit a job.

this too. A lot of people don't realize that this goes on your criminal record. It's considered a minor offense committed with intent to knowingly harm the company through criminal negligence. So if any future employer does a background check, they will find this

You don't have to work at the job for another two weeks

They're still required to pay you for the hours you have worked. The only catch is that you're going to have a fucking awkward or angry call with your boss when telling them "I'm done lmao" with no notice. Also, unless you start a job the next day, you've got no income.

If it’s a wagecuck tier job like flipping burgers or retail just walk off the job because you can get rehired at any of those types of places. If it’s manual labor, construction, or any place with a union you want to at least give a two weeks so you can have good references and to fall back on in case you need to be rehired that can get you healthcare and dental benifits just in case. If you’re in a good office position or are pretty important at a company give them at least a month so they can fill your position with someone from the lower ranks as you’re phased out, you want really good words and references from these places.

If you give 2 weeks notice, most companies will just fire you, because you're just gonna fuck off until you're done. Depends on the company and the situation though.

You have misinterpreted my statement. If fired, an employer will either pay you two weeks or give you that much notice. If you quit, you can either accept one of the above from the employer or leave immediately if he wants you to work. You can freely leave if he wants you to work, but you sacrifice any accrued leave as a penalty.

Rights and duties of both parties, at least in civilized countries.

>perfectly acceptable for a company to fire or lay employees off without any notice
>not acceptable for employees to quit without notice

If you don't give a notice, you run the chance of them saying you aren't eligible for re-hire if future employers call to verify employment history. That's where you get screwed.

>> No.10700129

>>10698702
nothing really but giving a two weeks is just a respect thing, and normally you can get rehired if you want to in the future.

however if it’s really shitty and your treated like dirt then it’s better to just quit imho

USA.

There's no law requiring employers to give you any kind of notice before terminating you. If you are lucky and work for a decent employer they will give you some sort of severance package if you are laid off, but they are not obligated to.

The whole bad reference thing is a meme too. Legally they can't slander you. Instead they use will ask past employers if you are eligible to work again for them. If they say no, it's HR code for you were an unsatisfactory employee.

Since it was past 4th of July, I grabbed an m80, lit the fuse, and tossed it in the dishwasher. I pretended I had no idea and the dishwasher just went kaput. Lingered around for a while and they had to start using the three compartment to wash every dish. I left when they tried to draft me for it lol

In most cases you are breaking your contract which means that the company can >by law hold you responsible for any losses made during this time and they could technically take you to court and recoup those losses. I’ve never seen this happen
