How much money do you need to even consider the stock market? I'm living with my parents while I finish community college, and I just finished paying for my last semester with $900 still saved up. I have basically zero costs from now until at least January, so I figured I might try to get into the stock market. I've been reading up on investing so I won't go in blind, and I'm sure I'll give it another week or so to keep reading and deciding if I want to do it.
But, is $900 going to actually get me anything? Also, I'm not trying to spend it all, so I'd say closer to $300 or maybe $400 at most, so I have money left over. I quit my job recently since I had enough to finish paying for college, so this is all the money I'll have to work with. I'm not trying to make a huge amount, I'll probably mostly be trying to just not lose money and have a hands on learning experience so later down the line when I have more to invest I'll already have experience.
Also, what brokers do people recommend? Right now I'm looking at Robinhood mainly because it's cheapest.

Ive read that book and several other stock related books. Random walk is one of the best well rounded books.

I finished recently new market wizards and he interviews many rich traders. There are several accounts of traders hitting it big for years then just getting wiped out completely in a week. The general theme seemed to be money management and risk control helps from going under too hard. Like it seems you dont have to be 100% right all of the time and call the bottom always but if you are right most of the time and are near the bottom on average you will do better than alot of high risk takers.

Some other books I have read offer some decent advice and usually just mention to save your money and invest in the index fund.

Best thing to do is to cross reference your buy and sell orders with the CCI and Williams. Check for extremes with the RSI though that might only be necessary with the daily chart. All in all, just cycle back down the stock’s history and see how accurate the technicals are and see which suits it best. If the technicals are giving choppy signals, for example it says to buy, then receeds back and says buy again, it’s usually best to double down and keep on trucking

That said KDP is now the third largest beverage company. They have Snapple but my choice would be another non carbonated drink to reduce health trend risk. Those ICE waters would be a good choice product wise, don't know their company standing. I could also make a case for alcohol. Like captian Morgan goes great with Dr. Pepper. This is the biggest thing they have bought so far, and I think they would want to expand it as much as possible, seeing their somewhat recent history of purchases.
I feel like they might be interested in going into other markets - energy drinks, or perhaps even alcohol, to achieve that. Either way it will probably take a while before they have the money for another huge acquisition, and it will probably slowly decline until earnings decides where it goes.

so you're putting on a lot of vertical spreads because the charts are bullish? i only look at charts to visually track price movement compared to an expiration cycle and even then i dont do that too often. you just need a few things to know: is it in the SP500? Does it have high IV ranking? Is the spread tight? Can you short a strangle at the 16 delta and receive enough RoC to justify the risk?
