I took the trade pill.

>graduate HS with good grades
>really fucking tired of studying
>muck around for some years with unskilled work and travel
>realize I like working with my hands
>enroll in trade school as an electrician
>everything I learn had real world applications
>all my instructors are old tradies with at least a decade of experience
>companies are basically begging for apprentices
>so many options for specialisation
>is basically employed before I even graduate
>mfw

Why did no one tell me I could get paid to do this? Why the fuck are universities memed so much?

Because boomers put in that retarded "requirement" in the first place, making hard to get into careers even harder in the first place
>be pilot
>spend tens of thousands of dollars in flight training, gear, etc
>work for regionals, get shitty to meh pay
>apply for majors
>degree required
>spend even more money
it's all a money scheme I tell you, I honestly plan on getting my four year at a community college or somewhere in the middle, because Uni is too fucking much

>get into huge discussion on /trv/ with some autist who claimed he was a better class of traveler than all others
>turns out we both live in the same city
>challenge him to an IRL debate
>I show up in my glorious 6'2 frame right after work
>he turns out to be a greasy, skinny manlet weeb, who is in fact autistic
>mfw

Suffice to say I changed his mind.

I'd love to do trades but in the UK it is flooded with immigrants and that Anglos are more inclined to trade jobs than any other fucking culture in the world.

So there is no astronomical salaries for trades here an I already was rejected for an apprenticeship. It does no look too bright here for being a tradesman.

Would a work permit

I am in HR now :/ still cooking as a hobby though.

As if someone is wondering why:

Its just easier, payes more, most of days i am not doing anything. Key part is i have plenty of energy left to get handsy with some home project or something.
When i was working as a cook i was dead tired. My health was better and i was more fit however from all the running around for ingridients and lifting one thing or another and cutting. It was cardio everyday.
