Hodling and making it big means you saw it go to $1k and then crash to mid $150 slowly all the while everyone and their mom telling you it's finished, an experiment that wasn't meant to be, and so on. Where are we now? Whales that have time in the market deserve their positions for sure.

I think we're one quarter away from getting out of the bear market.

I just always used bitcoin core. block confirmation times were same as today, but of course none of the blocks were ever full and most of the time you could send with 0 tx fee

>>10557515
2014 felt much worse, Mt. Gox was like 80+% of the market and it going down and so many bitcoins going missing, it was truly dark times. this feels like nothing compared to that honestly, even though I've lost soooo much more unrealized gains this bubble
but like I said I've never sold any crypto, I just hold and keep buying. also I'll get roasted for this but I no longer hold BTC, I kept BCH from the fork and used the BTC I had to buy XLM, ETH, XMR and more BCH. Bitcoin Cash is legit the 'real' bitcoin as it was back in the day

Agreed, Fuck BTC. I've been in Crypto since 2013 (so I'm not an oldfag by my own standards) and saw BTC's decline in being taken over by corporations and government. BCH is the true Bitcoin now, the only decentralized coin with fast fees, solving the scaling problem, better network, faster merchant adoption, etc.

BCH will destroy BTC

>> No.10558269

I was mining it in 2009/2010 and shitposting about it on /g/. Back when the mining reward was 50 BTC. I even mined an entire block by myself once (not through a mining pool).
Then I sold everything apart from 3 bitcoins at $21 which was a peak at the time.
I still have those 3 bitcoins somewhere on one of my old drives but dont bother to dig it up.

Didn't actually start to accumulate until after gox, 2017 was never meant to happen and nothing has really changed since then, just more of the same talk and still nobody fucking using it for anything. Don't think we had a biz, I think it was random/poll and it felt the same as link to be honest, most bitcoin talk was for the lolz, more chat was how to buy drugs online and how the fuck to not get the police turn up at your door, some geeks had some information about the creator and how smart he was ect, but to be honest the difficulty was so high that one one was evening mining, not kidding but I see a re-run of it in link and 0x so let's see.

don’t really care for BTC or 1.0 blockchains in general now, the store of value meme is valid but the technology was only ever going to be suited to launch the revolution, not to sustain it, PoW creates a permanent state of badly aligned incentives.

pretty much all in LINK and Tezos now.

heh.. before crypto I was a full time professional gambler. spent a shitload of time on the twoplustwo forums. This thread started in 2011 talking about bitcoin is pretty neat. There's a guy who made it his goal to secure 1% of all BTC in existence. By the time of this post he had accumulated 50k. I wonder how he is doing now :)
