Isnt eth a better/faster system? Arent both btc and eth using similarly effective blockchains?

>> No.10492800 [DELETED]

Because block reward is almost the same as when ETH was 10$ and no major upgrades until 2020. It can only bleed more from here.

1. too high inflation
2. too high inflation
3. btc has older brand

>> No.10493324

Inflation and centralization, Vitalik can fork it and reverse transactions at any time. If Vitalik were to die or anything it would also probably implode. Additionally dapps bloat the blockchain but there's still almost no useful dapps, they're mostly junk.

Why exactly SHOULD ETH pass BTC?

It's not supposed to be a currency, so bls elaborate?

eth had more use as a currency than btc ever had.
Every ico used eth as a currency.

That's more a problem with BTC devs/community not pulling their collective heads outta their collective asses, less an inherent benefit of ETH.

I maintain: it's not supposed to be a currency.

Vitalik is taking a very long time to meet promises he made about addressing ETH's problems. Proof of stake and sharding were things people were trading for with expectation that they would be forthcoming in a reasonable period of time. If Vitalik is tossing out dates like 2020, investor interest sours some.

Tokens representing assets and smart contracts manipulating them are going to be 99% of crypto use.
Literally the only area outside of speculation where btc has more use are darknet markets. The ico bubble was fantastic for adoption because people had to actually use eth and set up a wallet. Bitcoin buyers just kept it on exchanges.
