Guys, I want to share something wonderful with you, I just broke the 100k mark after starting with just 80 bucks in 2017. My friends, gf and parents all said trying to trade was stupid, a waste of time and that I wasn't going to make it. I never felt better in my life.

I trade support/resistance breakouts on bitmex. If a resistance is broken I go long and the other way around. Never have more than 10% of my portfolio in orders, tight stop losses and low leverage. Works wonders.

Thats great man! you can buy a house with that kind of cash in certain parts of the country. Just make sure if you pull any money out to do it in sub 10k sums so a CTR isn't created by the bank or other alarms go off and you might be able to sneak by Uncle Sam. I'd just pay the tax though.

I don't know what kind of 3rd world shithole you live in but 500k certainly isn't enough to "make it" in any 1st world country today. It's a lot of money, sure, but it's not as much as you make it out to be.

You are viewing it as fiat terms. This is end game in that you do not spend it as fiat. You hold on to it for when the central banking system inevitably dies. You still aren't done until you are dead. This is true regardless of how much money you have.

>tfw started with $4k in April 2017 and now only just have like $11k
I'm not even sure what I did wrong, I've been trading on bitmex too, I lost at first but regained all and got much more. Went from 0.3 BTC on bitmex to like 1.2 in a few months using mostly 10000 positions. Still it's just a few thousand dollars.
I was at $30k at ATH but didn't sell on time and my alts bled. Before that I guess I missed the bitcoin run and invested in the wrong shitcoins.

I started with 10x but now I just sit on cross since it's easy money, pretty much can't be liquidated - but the gains are slow. With a 10000 position you only gain 0.1 BTC on a ~700 point move so you get the picture. I started rebuilding my stack in the middle of March when I lost all I put on bitmex.

breakout traders are the worst for getting trapped in an order. its basically just a nicer way of saying "im a fomo trader", you wait for support to break and fomo into a short. obviously a very shit method.
the best thing to do is draw your horizontal support and resistance, wait for a break in market structure, and short/long the retest of said support/resistance

for example here's a trade idea i put out to twitter 2 days ago, i'd like you to go and look at the prices of my long position and look at the price now

It's not boring for me, even a 0.1 BTC gain is a lot of money for me, I wouldn't get it in a job in a month and it costs me basically 0 energy. I just feel like a failure seeing anons trading that much more effectively.
I actually overtraded in the beginning of my bitmex journey and lost a big chunk of my portfolio, took me a while to get even.

But I think I failed as an investor. I wanted to be too safe, only went in big coins. If we look at how the price of coins such as BTC or ETH multiplied from April 2017 to now it is close to the multiplier of my portfolio. I basically missed out on all the good alts because I thought they're shitcoins, or if I bought them I sold them too early.
