If you have +20k. But in this market I would say +50k.

It's pretty much all in ride or die shitcoin gambling if you have like 10k or less

why not just do bitcoin then? all altcoins basically lag bitcoin anyway

>> No.10424064

if you're a trader, it's essential
you need to partially liquid at all times in big caps like BTC or ETH so you can scalp/buy mega-dips
you need to be diversified in alts so that you can continually rebalance+ increase your stack that way
but if you're overdiversified, it becomes very difficult to monitor the ratios between what you're holding and notice good opportunities to swap/siphon money from one asset into another

What if you're not a trader (I mainly hold 2-3 alts and btc and switch alts once in a while, every few weeks) and you don't have a lot of money invested in at all?
Should you limit diversification?

Tradefag here
In the crypto world the prime number of alts to hold is around 4-6
Less can be better, not more tho

Going all in is idiotic, first off the market is random and unpredictable... even the coin you think is pajeet shit can be up 50% one day while yours is dumping

>> No.10424910

The goal of diversification is to hold a basket of uncorrelated assets that trend upward.

Every shit coin is correlated with BTC. Do not diversify.

Does diversification in crypto matter?
What do you think?

>> No.10426060

>>10423997
Absolutely. Look at the case of any history of a crypto.

They all boom at different times, most of the time.

Also, for instances of shit like UUU / TOMO, you cannot time when certain things like a Binance listing happen. (See : HOLOCHAIN insider-trading)

Best to spread out, set sell targets, and constantly shift.

Never marry your coin.

yes anon, especially if you are doing the /biz thing and buying total shit total hype of the month projects. have at least two coins (more if you're buying using the /biz shit meme method of investing). I'm holding 4 (two with major positions) and when one is only going up 3-5 percent the other will be up 10-16%... then another day both are down 1-2% but my other holds are up 5-20% and round and round it goes. I will tell you this, I definitely see that it tends to level out the fluctuations and I feel much more comfy. If i was just holding one I would have died of an ulcer by now.

Chad

I'm new in crypto so help me out on this one.

Traders are buying crypto to hold it and then sell for real money, all right? Or are they buying it to trade for BitCoin or some main currency?

If BitCoin goes really high, let's just suppose, it's better to sell it or hold it? Supposing that it can always go down.

I think this year with institutional money, you aren't going to see things like TRX/Dragonchain. I think your coin will need to have some actual tech behind it. Also I think a lot of "cryptocurrency" will end up dying and utility tokens will become more sought after. Just because it isn't that useful if the crypto only functions purely as currency.

A lot of them seem to be hitting the bottom right now
