no its awesome. I spent four months in south east asia partying and fucking swedish girls every night.
$2k can take you a long way. fly into bangkok spend a few days there and head south to the islands.

I’ve actually been to pic related. Thailand is worth it. If you’re like the retard above, you can blow all your money on hedonism and wind up desiring to kill your self. Or you can use your saved money to retire or see cultural spots for many months. I did both and the latter is much more enjoyable.

You overpay everything because you’re a stupid faggot tourist. Stay in the west and get raped by niggers. Majority of Thailand would wipe your ilk out. >is there any point vising anywhere with mild social anxiety?
as someone with severe social anxiety...
I certainly didn't get as much out of it as a normie would. In fact it was mostly a negative experience the first couple times. However it DID improve my anxiety and confidence a bit, I felt like a more competent person after, so it was worth it from that perspective
The worst part was then returning home and slipping back into my old ways. Watch out for that.
...
A later life changing experience has being going to philippines with my philippine gf, spending 6 months there, travelling around. Doing this with pleasant company, with her happy to handle any people I don't feel like talking to... That has been a great experience and at least reduced my anxiety from severe to only moderate.
In summary: try it with an open mind anon. It might not feel as great as some others describe but in the very worst case you'll learn to appreciate your home a whole lot more. And who knows it might change your life

Yes and no.

It's over rated. Thais always trying to rip farang off. Old westerners (exOzzie druglords, Russian mobsters, Social Security Americans) there for young Thai pussy. Party it up studs who think they're god re-incarnate for being able to pay $30 for a soapy massage etc.

My first trip abroad was a study tour. My next trip was to Taiwan by myself. Find a local cutie via tinder who will love to show your white face around. And find a proper girl, not a dark skinned whore. Anyway, locations, length of stay, and activities depend on you. Thailand is not small, but I would stay away from BKK. If you want to go to a proper city, definitely hit chiang mai. Visit temples, night markets, parks, mountains, famous restaurants, entertainment. I also really recommend Taiwan as an ice breaker due to how safe, friendly Taiwanese are. Also a lot of beautiful places to visit.

>> No.10397575

>>10397452
>>Do you get great pleasure from going for walks and looking at sights in your home country?
>definitely yes
Then I think you should definitely try it
I think what you gain from it will also depend on how much the stress of travelling, flights, being in a new place detracts from the pleasure of the sights to see. but the stress of travelling reduces with practice and familiarity

You’ll meet people anon. I had brutal social anxiety. I did SEA, and one day was sitting down to enjoy a beer by myself around lunchtime. I was sweating a lot and it was evident. Irish guy came up to me and was super friendly saying “it’s so bloody humid isn’t it?” Introduced himself and sat down and just started talking. He even said stuff like “ah you’re the quiet type, that’s good, I talk enough shite for the both of us”.

i was in awe of how friendly and extroverted and easy he got on with people. His accent probabaly helped and he was chad tier good looking, but he just made everyone laugh all the time. His 2 mates came and joined us, and we went out that night. Ended up traveling with them for 2 weeks, as he playfully called me a “lonely bastard” and insisted I come along lol.

Tl;dr you’ll meet people who will change your personality and outlook.

I went travelling for two weeks in Europe and this was pretty much what I did. Was planning on going for 3-6 months at least, but decided to go home after two weeks. I didn't hate it, but it was pretty boring and a bit lonely. I'm very introverted and shy, but I felt lonely, just from the absence of being around family members or colleagues (even though I barely talk to them). I concluded that travel isn't for me, at least not on my own (though I don't have anyone to travel with). I wouldn't mind moving abroad and settling down somewhere, then I could get to know people and get into a routine (lack of routine was something else I didn't like about travelling), and while I'm there I could visit other places every now and then. But I definitely don't want to do the full-time travelling thing.

But maybe try for a few weeks and see how you like it?

I was planning on going to SEA eventually, but I decided to start with Europe first because it's closer to home (cheaper flights). Turned out to be a good decision because I decided to go home after two weeks. I doubt I would enjoy going to museums, beaches, hiking, etc. in SEA any more than I would in Europe.

My parents dragged me multiple times to Europe as a kid and it always sucked, so I'm probably biased. Also the fact that every normie or relative that I know only ever thinks of traveling to Europe. Europe is the last place I think of in association with the word travel. I'd rather visit Africa first desu.
