>study the chainlink code
>develop a modified chainlink that uses ether instead of link tokens
>short link
>release the code and watch the link price crash as you profit
is this doable?

>study the bitcoin code. Release copy of bitcoin and short bitcoin. Watch as bitcoin crashes and everybody magically switches to your one.
>study the ethereum code. Copy ethereum but replace ether with bitcoin. Short both bitcoin and ethereum then use the money to study the McDonald’s code. Copy McDonald’s but replace the Big Macs with whoppers then short McDonald’s. Watch as McDonald’s crashes and everyone buys your copy.

Y..your a genius anon.

not necessarily make my own copy, what if it were possible to make a simple add-on for chainlink? Or is the token too tied up with the code?

I think you’re getting somewhere anon. Why don’t you give it a go and let us know how you get on. kek.

Seriously though, in your head what would be the advantage of using your version over Chainlink?

Sure, it's doable. Just not by you

So why people buy and use Tron instead of ETH?

>> No.10387226

I love this threads. Every couple of week there's a new brainlet who thinks he can just copy the code and get rich while Jason keeps lurking in the dark waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

>Seriously though, in your head what would be the advantage of using your version over Chainlink?
just the simplicity of only having to use ether

so like
>in a future where all stores use ether for payment
>except McDonalds
>you first have to change your ether for link and then pay for your big macs with link
>open up Wackdonalds
>same supplier of big macs as McDonalds
>prices in ether instead

I realize I'm most likely a brainlet. Now that I think about it, that would remove the blockchain agnostic element, which I guess is a negative

using ether instead of link ties the functioning of the network to an unrelated resource. poor FUD

I hope you're joking for your sake, it would make me sad if you were really this unintelligent.

and who will run the nodes in that scenario?
the entire point of every network having its own token is the monetary incentive for early adopters to get in early and earn an asset that will go up as the network grows. Who the fuck knows what's gonna happen to eth prices.
USD-wise running a CL node won't be that crazy beneficial but you'll get paid a lot of tokens that in the future have a high chanhce of mooning.
Good luck trying to do that with eth.
Hoping you will get node operators that get paid in eth is like trying to convince average joe to mine btc in 2018

do you have the equivalent of 350 million link in eth to give in node rewards?
