Its a buy product of mining other industrial metals like zinc so is basically always going to be produced and sold irrespective of market price. Unless global demand for zinc collapsed (won't happen). Love the stuff but the base price is 5$ (which is what I bought it at in 2003). Its not going to move much other than sideways between 10-15 which just reflects monetary supply increases since 2000. Not sure what OP is on about, there is like a 20 cent change in price on the week, which is absolutely nothing in silver, either up or down. Buy ten or twenty kilos and forget about it, more than that and its a pain in the ass to deal with. If you have the knowledge buy fine antique silverware with hallmarks (different market). Anyone who does not own 10 or twenty kilos of silver and ounces of gold is a poor fag. Anyone who owns more than 20 kilos of silver or ounces of gold is either made it or dim.

Go back and look at silver in 2007-2008. $20 to $10 in 08, then $10 to $50 in the years following the GFC
