I have locked in some gains, but I generally prefer to hold out the majority of my positions from the bigger winners for the 12 months necessary to get LT gains status. Beyond that I'm perfectly content holding things longer if I still see potential. I reserve a decent amount for shorter swings, and have plenty of spare income from my job to fund future plays as I see them.

>I just want something with a pretty UI
i try to focus on just the numbers and info, most of the friendly UI sites never give me good info and sites that are clustered as fuck have the best info.

I see you are kinda catching onto a strategy of mine, if you want to calculate short squeezes.. calculate the volume. For example, on LCI there is around 15mil short since around maybe 1-2 weeks ago with an avg of 22 days to cover since then there hasn't been nearly enough volume to consider them all covering... but on top of that you have to take in account of dilution. If there is no dilution and heavy shorting especially on a solid company.. calculate and prepare.

why do you think theres so many people/bots shilling it like its a good idea rn? theres literally no worse buy on the market currently. theyre diluting it, shorts are gobbling those shares immediately as bulls are non-existent, and in a few weeks (MAYBE a month) it will be trading at the r/s equivalent of a tenth of a cent

ANYONE who holds through that 250:1 r/s is going to lose absolutely everything. like, were talking completely un-recoupable losses. maybe there will be a squeeze after it happens due to the float being so overwhelmingly short, but it will never moon high enough to get to these poor suckers buying todays B/E

I wasn't talking about that. To actually answer and hold a "conversation" with you I had to look up and learn some new stuff. I literally learnt what "short interest", "SIR", "dilution", "short squeeze" mean while talking to you. It was a good incentive to look up new stuff, put it into a context and try to understand what someone else was saying with the small new knowledge I had just gathered.
Tbh the notion of Short Squeeze was particularly interesting.

that can be used to your advantage if you make big bucks over here. dunno how easy you can trade our markets, but w rates rising, the dollar is likely to continue its crazy run. you hold in U$D while its mooning (and subsequently smashing all other currencies, including yours), then when you sell back into zloty youll be making extra gainz on top of whatever you get from over here. ive met chinese dudes who do this shit. helps that the chink govt is always purposefully dumping their own currency too

Don't really know that much, woke up too late to invest. They're doing better than ever since Moonlighter entered Chinese market, and they've made a lot of money of Frostpunk, even with a recent "Amazon selling pirated copies" scandal. They're an ambitious studio, but it seems they're happy with the niche they found - smaller AA games that aren't that costly to produce. So I guess not as much potential to grow as CDP:red, but a solid investment. They put out quality products (note: sample of two right now).

CDP on the other hand purchased a Wrocław-based small studio recently (ex-Techland devs) and they seem set on expanding their scope. Two AAA premieres till 2022, my guess (and pretty much anyone else's) the second one is a Witcher universe game. Hopefully the Netflix show is good (yeah, right), it may create a nice boost.
I'm worried about the state of Gwent right now, still in beta but there will be some huge redesigns soon. That's why my money is on Gamescom being Gwent-focused, and not much info on Cyberpunk. Besides after the recent Witcher 3 downgrade fiasco I think they want to play it cool and then do a quicker campaign to 2019/2020 release.

>Say I'm buying a stock I don't mind holding that I'm bullish on like at&t.

In RH, the puts usually have to be "covered" by holding enough cash to cover the shares if the option is exercised -- meaning the option buyer "puts it to you" by forcing you to buy the shares from them at the strike price
>But even if I'm wrong the worst thing is i miss out on gains?
The worst thing that can happen is instead of just collecting the premium and most likely sitting on that cash to cover the put, the option gets exercised and you get those shares at a heavy discount to their current price
>I'm sure i fucked that up, but essentially you can't lose unless you get stuck holding a stock thats value dropped. But that doesn't matter to me because I planned to holdanyway.y
I guess that's the way to think about it.

It's much more effective unless you have less than 1k and can't properly diversify across multiple companies

Ex-fucking-xactly. I have just started investing last week, only got 500 EUR I can use right now. I'll add another 1000 very soon. Hopefully I'll reach around 5000 in not too long.
It was sort of idiotic to start investing with only 500 EUR, especially because of the crazy commissions in Europe (Degiro isn't even that cheap on European markets), but it let me learn lots and at least I managed to go even with the commissions costs so far.

Losing enough money that when the pay-out finally happens, you've still lost more than you gained.

You could try selling puts on UVXY or selling calls on SVXY.
If what you were thinking of was a profitable thing, then people would be doing it. But it's not, and many investors will just buy VIX as a "hedge" -- they're willing to accept a loss on it because it decreases their beta / the downside risk on their portfolio... It's like buying a handful of tech companies AND SQQQ to protect against a slide in the whole tech sector

I started with just 500 bucks. You're fine. (I'm at about 28,000 now, after 18 months of this)
I'd recommend putting the majority or half in something like SPY or SPXL.

It would probably still be more fun for you to invest in specific companies than an ETF for the whole gaming industry.

>Hopefully I'll reach around 5000 in not too long.
I was much more slow to put money in. I didn't have 5k in until about a year later... (But I did get a high paying full time job about 8 months into this journey)... The main reason that I dumped my whole savings in was a massive dip in FB that I saw as an opportunity that I seized with conviction.

>Degiro isn't even that cheap on European markets
Another eurofag said he's able to use Interactive Brokers. I'd recommend checking it out.
I'm on Robinhood, but still heavily considering IB, particularly for when I get to 100 grand or more.
RH doesn't have commissions, but IB is a better platform -- if degiro has commissions anyways, IB might have more competitive pricing.

the material costs are getting too high, and the west's coast of the U.S. has issues with inflation currently
thanks to the higher minimum wage; everybody's getting crushed by inflation and getting second jobs to just make rent

in a nice little bow, tie that off with a really generous social services tax that the west pays, and you got a shitty real estate market
