How do hedge fund managers get clients? I see this one billionaire hedge fund manager in a restaurant all the time and he's just talking to a new person everytime. I eat there with my brother a lot and we never see him take out a computer, take out his phone, show the potential client paperwork nothing. Why wouldn't you just tell the potential client this is what I manage; this is my annual return; this is my lifetime return this is how many clients I have what could they possibly be talking about?

My friend is an engineer with multiple degrees and masterses and shit, he works as a kind of a global salesman for a big firm and this is basically his job description. He takes rich guys out to lunch and drinks all over the world and explains to them why their shit is so much better than the competition. He literally only uses his computer to play vidya

Its part of getting to know the company.
Imagine you have shit tons of money and want to invest it somewhere or give it to fund X.
You look at the numbers, take your risk into account, check with your soul and then you do it. But why not take the offer from the hedge fund manager to eat at his favorite place so you get to know where you put your money?

Sometimes its just small talk, getting new ideas, findin opportunity, keeping in touch with a person that has alot of money that you value.

WTF you idiots talking about, he's the one single wagecuck in existance that I personally respect. I'm a full blown boomer neet and I can tell you that this guy has the liver and confidence to do that job and he could also kick your ass in most vidya. He's the real deal.

Anyway, the moral of the story since this is /biz/ and not /b/, was that real business is done over drinks, not on a smartphone or an office. High end business is all about explaining hard concepts in an easy way and a comfortable setting to people with lots of money.

This was the whole fucking point, you niggas need to get over yourselves and your beta preconceptions and start paying attention to the woods instead of the tree. I wouldn't wanna do his job either, this isn't the point.

The point is that business REQUIRES people skills, end of fucking story.

Fucking dweebs

Think about your question, Anon. How do You get to know people? Is it friends of friends? People you went to school with? People you're in the same club as? i.e. People you have connections with?

This guy went to rich private school, as did his friends and relatives, he is in fancy rich dude clubs, just like his friends and relatives. He has lots of rich dude connections, as do his friends and relatives. So when he walked into Goldstein-Gassem for a job, they asked "what can you bring to the table?", and he got the answer right: "rich dude 1%er personal connections, and lots of em".

This is how the real world works man.
