We passed the point of no return a very very long time ago. Nothing within Trump's tenure compares to:

1. The Federal Reserve Act
2. The creation of the FDIC as a temporary emergency measure (which became a permanent taxpayer funded put option on depositor liquidity for the private banking industry)
3. Temporary suspension of dollar convertibility to gold in 1973 (made permanent)
4. Implicit bailouts post 2008, and near zero rates for 10+ years, negative in some countries. US Government picking winners and losers. Essentially a blank check for the housing debt market, health insurance market, education market distorting prices.

I could go on. The point is, Trump has nothing to do with it. The majority of well-off adults who do not work in high finance still think the dollar is backed by gold, only know about 2 buildings falling on 9/11 and don't ask any questions, and blame everything on Trump because he isn't 100% scripted like every other politician before him during their lifetimes.
