Bonds are not "high". Zoom out. While yields are low, they are safe. The equities are running out of steam. This last pumping was all from emerging market money trying to find shelter from the shit crashing around them. They will flee US equities now since we are topped off for awhile. If earnings are stellar on the large caps we'll resume bullmode. Currently we are still sideways.

comfy, if youre trying to long vol w options, do it w $VIX calls (ie type in $VIX with the "$" in front). atleast then, if vol doesnt go up, you wont get raped due to leveraged ETF bullshittery. theyre a little more expensive, but absolutely the best way to hedge against vol spikes imo. short vol is what you wanna do on those ETFs like UVXY VXX.

like im long vol now, so i bought some $VIX calls earlier, sold one on that spike, and then bought some VXX puts after i sold off one of my VIX calls. i covered my vol short for today, and now i still have another call on the $VIX. the only thing you have to worry about is theta, but thats ok/negligable if you go ITM

Alot of people on here will stay out of the market until a huge dip then buy up the rest. This is a good idea also but Trumps economy is going good so far, so you could be missing years of gains with that attitude.

This. China openly flaunts being dicks to the rest of the world. But they're more dependent on our current trade ratios than it appears. Recently they've been allowing western culture in to leverage consumerism as indirect population control. The top layers of society have a lot more to lose now as a result since they've been grafting the fuck out of it. Netflix could afford to lose money for ten years because they had deep coffers, this shits don't and they will use share holder money to solve that problem in the short term if they have too. All in all, if I had to pull a number straight from my ass, I would say 5% chance baggies don't get wrecked. I have shares btw.
