Maybe we'll never know OP. I'm searching everywhere for a long time in any possible location, every major forum in the internet (even chemistry, maths, biology and physics ones), random reddit subs, technology pages, even the deepweb... everywhere. If I found it, I'll share, don't worry. But sometimes I fear there's absolutely nothing out there.

Cloud computing and connecting all of our devices through the cloud. Computers, phones, cars, electrical grid, the tv on your fridge, everything needs to be connected together.

Encrypting all of this will be the new big thing. Soon the personal computer will be obsolete due to the fact that transistors can only get so small due to physical restrictions. Computers will need to be in a central server and remotely accessed by paying customers. All of the cloud interactions will need to be encrypted and ideally decentralized.

I hate to say it, but I have to say Decred. I don't own any, because I hope there will be no next Bitcoin. I only own Bitcoin. However if something went wrong with Bitcoin, I think Decred has a chance to replace it (unfortunately; hopefully it never happens). Reasons:

>Still based in rock-solid PoW like BTC; but mixed with PoS in a hybrid way that eliminates the inherent problems of PoS; PoS is only used to increase power of stakeholders vs miners and for voting; and for increasing 51% attack resistance;

>Programmers are top notch, they created btcd / btcsuite, an alternative full node implementation of Bitcoin written in Go... so they know Bitcoin inside out, every little aspect of it, every nuance... their node has never forked bitcoin, as is in fact used by Lightning Network's lnd;

>Other things such as: self-funded, no need to rely on outside companies; they have an novel privacy release different from Monero and Zcash coming out soon;

I could go into it more but w/e

I hope there is no next Bitcoin and Bitcoin remains Bitcoin.

Because: It's literally the Bitcoin distribution mechanism, supply cap, mining adjustments etc. implemented as an Ethereum token

ETH will flip BTC and 0xBTC is the first token distributed using Proof of Work

Inb4 it isn't PoW because the work doesn't secure the transactions / blockchain - this is handled by ETH already, and PoW still secures the token distribution

most coins now are wising up and not using proof of work, economy of scale means btc will forever be the most powerful and secure proof of work network, as minority chains like gold, cash, diamond, etc get attacked.

btc might not be the most valuable network in the future, but no pure value coin will ever surpass it or the concept of store of value blockchains will die for a generation or two.

there's a lot more incentive to keep bitcoin the biggest and most secure than a few late adopters hoping to get rich on some chink fork or other shitcoin. it's just not going to happen.
