Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Believe it or not the weekly candles are showing a possible run on the nasdaq. This doesnt happen that often so I'll believe it for now. I bought more of the dip today on the QQQ to see.

However today I fucked up and daytraded TSLA options without good rules in place, I got burned HARD. I though have just kept the stupid puts I bought, curse these weak hands. However I do think TSLA is going to return to the mean tomorrow so I made the smarter play and did a vertical spread with defined risk.

Does anyone else use the think or swim options spread hacker? See pic. How are there these many 90% profit options with more than 20% returns out there? I guess I need to learn about diagonal and calendar spreads, they seem to be legit.

Tomorrow. Senate vote will be after close today.

My portfolio is doing well. RTI overbought but still holding, looks bullish on daily and weekly. TBP looking really nice and finally broke .70 sell wall. FFT getting manipulated or shorted or maybe investors were getting impatient (like me) so I sold it this morning and bought the APH dilution dip a bit under $12. Will be back in FFT when it gets in oversold territory again.

Is anyone here have a good knowledge of existing TA indicators? There seems to be a relationship between VIX and $TICK that seems to clue into fakeouts.

For example usually the two indicators are in agreement but they diverged near the bell and it was clear that the sell ticks were causing a run up in the indexes as volatility spiked down at the same time.

Im probably not the first to notice this but am wondering if anyone has written metrics off of this.

I dunno about the VIX but I do have some techniques to double check my analysis if trend. Main one is conflict between MACD and Stochastic RSI on 4 hour or longer time scales. MACD is a more reliable indicator but stochastic rsi can give earlier clues about where things might be headed. Never rely on stochastic rsi by itself as using it alone is highly unreliable. I use it only as a potential uncertainty gauge compared against other stuff. If mixed signals are going on I will wait for more price movement for trend confirmation.

The Chinese government is propping up these glassy knock-offs of advanced tech companies to help create a facade of there being something genuinely interesting and of value to gather data on.

The thing with weed is a lot of people smoke it simply because it’s illegal. Being edgy and resisting the ebil guberment. Once nobody pays attention to them they’ll stop. Then it’ll only be the hippies and nogs smoking it.

you're quite frankly insane.

in the weed legalization, there are people who want to smoke week freely (you)
and there's people who are worried that legal weed will hurt people's lives because weed is definitely not healthy

senators who stand to make money on weed have excused themselves from the debate.

There are a lot of ways money can relate to even something as mundane as that shit but honestly it's really a non-issue what you are bringing up in the first place. The fact you don't see how lobbying and money impacts legislation makes you the perfect voter who thinks "they are making a difference" and that "the government is for the people." the dog park thing is actually a huge issue for me, someone who wants to buy a dog. actually it will have a larger impact on my life than weed legalization ever could
the dog park thing is also a huge issue to old ladies who's entire life joy comes from the park and now they're scared they'll break their little hip. a dog park will affect their lives more that weed will

lobbying obviously affects politics but lobbying needs to happen and it serves a useful purpose. it frankly sounds like you're scared of lobbyists because you dont really know what they actually do.

Kneepads, I thought you would know this.

>DEFINITION of 'Tick Index'
The tick index compares the number of stocks that are rising to the number of stocks that are falling on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The index measures stocks making an uptick and subtracts stocks making a downtick. For example, there are roughly 2,800 stocks listed on the NYSE. If 1,800 stocks have made an uptick and 1,000 stocks have made a downtick, the tick index would equal +800 (1,800 – 1,000).

It give you the flavor of any given trend for the day. See this shit hanging around -800 all day? Big boys are selling and go with the flow.

I think people being overbullish on AMD ($40EOY, etc.) are really biased because they have bought AMD for their gaymer PC or something and since they know the brand name, they think it will be that easy.
In real life, ML won't be done with a run-off-the-mill CPU. In the industry, end-users for ML, AI and other very specific applications (automotive, aerospace) don't generally work with big consumer companies like AMD. Tesla choose STMicro for their embedded logic and imaging, Valeo (equimement provider for BMW, Renault-Nissan and other euro cars) work with Kalray. Intel has a specific line for datacenters and high-end consumers, but so far AMD doesn't.

Hello, friendos. I'm gonna try and help a few of you willing to listen. I day trade, mostly, and rotate my stocks based on when their earning reports are. I usually buy them the week before, and obtain small gains through the week, and then sell on they day of their report. I've found that this is pretty consistent in terms of gains, even if they are relatively small. Though, like always, it still is a gamble as the stock market is relatively unpredictable--so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

The following stocks have earnings reports:

Monday:
>PLAY (Good buy, has been making gains all month)

>DTEA (Bad buy, losing grounds for a long time)

>KMG (Good buy, probably even a long term buy)

>LMNR (Gamble Buy, it's been pretty stagnant)

>RH (Bad Buy, not because the stock is bad, but because the projected earnings report is projected to be less than last quarter)

>SBLK (Gamble buy, this stock has been stagnating for a while, but it can be a surprise gain considering it is $13 atm)

>YTRA (Bad buy, been bleeding for a while and isn't bound to have a good report)

(Cont...)

>> No.9801289

>>9801282

Tuesday:
>CASY (Good buy, albeit expensive. It’s earning report is projected to be higher than last quarter)

>APPS (Gamble buy. It’s really cheap (~$2 ATM), but it’s earning report is right at 0.00, meaning that it can be a massive gain, or a massive loss)

>HRB (Good buy, with this stock having massive gains for the last month, and projected earning reports expected to be astronomical, there’s a good chance this will moon)

>JW.A (Gamble buy. This stock has been having decent gains for a full year, but its projected earnings report is only slightly higher than last quarter. It may be a small gain or loss)

>LE (Bad buy. Although this stock has been making good ground for the last half of the year the expected earnings is very low. Guaranteed a net loss in this stock)

>OXM (Good buy, albeit expensive. Expected reports are higher than last quarter, so expect decent gains)

>PVTL (Bad buy, due to a very low earnings report. However, it may be a decent long-term buy considering the stock is in its baby years. Buy after the dip and hold until next earnings report)

>SAIC (Gamble buy, this stock has been stagnating for a while, with some pretty heavy ups and downs. You may get some good gains)

(Cont...)

>> No.9801298

>>9801289

Wednesday:
>BITA (Good buy, currently in a small dip and the expected report is up from last quarter, so expect good gains)

>CRWS (Gamble buy, stock has been losing value; however, it’s cheap ($5.50 atm) and has a good expected report, so you may see some good gains)

>KFY (Gamble buy, stock is currently in a dip and its expected report is about the same as last quarter. However, this stock may be a decent buy and hold for a while. It’s been making good gains for a long time)

>SNOA (Gamble buy, because all biopharma products are. Cheap, at ~$4.00, and its expected report is higher than last quarter, but it’s always missed its mark since inception. Buy if you like gambling)

>TLRD (Good buy, as this stock has been gaining ground for a good while. Also relatively new, with a good expected report too boot. It’s also shaping up to be a decent stock to buy and hold, too. I personally have stocks in this, so take my advice with a grain of salt.)

>CHKE (Bad buy, as this stock missed its last report by a massive margin. It is, however, only $0.75, and with a great amount of luck you can get some great gains. Except, don’t do that. That’s a terrible way to spend your money.)

>FNSR (Bad buy, although it’s been making decent gains for the past week, it’s still a bad buy. It’s been bleeding on its reports for the past year)

>FRED (Gamble buy, due to being another biopharma stock. So it’s cheap at $1.78, and can have a surprising turnout, but be expected to lose on this gamble)

>JBL (Gamble buy, because it looks like a bull trap to me. Bleeding on its reports for the last two quarters)

>MIK (Bad buy, due to the expected report being very low on this day.)

Keep in mind that these stocks are judged based on day trading in mind. Meaning you buy before the EPS, and then sell depending on how it’s going--either before, during or after. I’ve also noticed a semi-consistent pattern with stocks that have upcoming EPS dates:

During the full week before their EPS, most stocks have a tendency to go up. Probably due to people (like me) buying them in expectation of their earnings reports. Granted there are always exceptions.

>Energy Companies, as well as BioPharma Companies, have a tendency to act normal or fluctuate wildly. Or they just outright bleed.
>Name Brand companies (Michaels, Amazon, Facebook, etc) have a tendency to go up a little.

So, to help you guys out, I’m going to list stocks that have earnings reports next week (between June 18th -> June 22nd) with my suggestions on whether to buy or not.

>> No.9801321

>>9801289
What do you mean by small gains? I was doing the same thing 2yrs ago. Doing DD on earnings and buying and selling after. In my experience it worked out pretty well, but there was a lot of effort involved and still pretty risky. I ended up switching to buying tech stocks when they dipped 10-20% and holding them for at least a year for tax purposes. I might be making a little less money, but my trading is a lot more disciplined and relaxing.

>FDX (High Buy Priority. This stock is stupid expensive, though. However, the EPS is astronomically higher than last quarter’s so there’s a good chance that this stock will go up in value all week, and then moon on June 19th for a short time.)

>LZB (Good Buy Priority. This stock has been getting good gains for the last 3 months, and with a higher EPS than last quarter, it’s also expected to go up a little over the next week, and then moon a little on June 20th for a short time.)

>ORCL (Good Buy Priority. Much like LZB, it’s been getting decent gains over the last month. However, it’s also in a big dip at the moment. With its EPS being higher than last quarter, and it having a good track record of exceeding expectations, there is a good chance this stock will have heavy gains over the next week. This stock also looks like a good buy and hold until next quarter.)

>>9801321
It can be anywhere from 2% to 20% from my experience. I've gotten lucky on some days where my entire portfolio went up 12% in the span of an hour before dropping down a little.

>ATU (High Buy Priority. This stock has been gaining for roughly a week, and its EPS is a lot higher than last quarter. However, this stock has a tendency to miss marks, and was bleeding for some time last year. So this stock feels like a buy until the day of/before the EPS, and then sell. Unless you feel like gambling, then hold until the EPS is over, THEN sell.)

>AOBC (Low Buy Priority. This stock has been bleeding for some time, but there’s also indication that it’s simply in a dip. There’s a decent chance it’ll make good gains over the next week, and then again with a good EPS, but it’s a pretty big gamble. Cheap stock, though.)

>BNED (Low Buy Priority. I doubt this stock will have any kind of gains whatsoever over the next week, and I’m sure as shit that it’s going to fail its EPS.)

>MU (Good Buy Priority. Its EPS is higher than last quarter, and it’s a pretty well-known stock. It’s currently in a small dip, so I’d expect some decent gains over the next week.)

>SOL (Gamble Buy. This is an energy company, so it’s much harder to predict. However, considering that it’s been bleeding for 5 years now, I doubt it’ll suddenly stop. The EPS is higher than last quarter’s, though, there is a chance it may drain your gains.)

>SCS (Low Buy Priority. This company’s EPS is far lower than last year, in general. It might have some decent gains over the next week, but it feels like a bull trap.)

>WGO (High Buy Priority. Well-known company mixed with a much, much higher EPS than last year, in general. Expect some good gains over next week, and then a mini moon mission on June 20th.)

>BKS (Low Buy Priority. This is the same company as BNED, more or less. As a result, their EPS is the same, so my suggestion is the same. Don’t buy it. It’ll probably bleed.)

>CMC (Good Buy Priority. It’s been making decent gains over the last 3 months, and its EPS is higher than all of last year. However, it’s a bit hit and miss when it comes to meeting expectations. So expect good gains over next week, but a gamble on the EPS score.)

>DRI (Low Buy Priority. Combined with being expensive, and its EPS being down from last quarter, you’re more likely to lose money come June 21st. You might get some decent gains over next week, however.)

>KR (Medium Buy Priority. Kroger is a well-known company, so I do expect some gains over next week. However, its EPS is the same as last quarter. So you may not have a moon mission on June 21st.)

>PDCO (Low Buy Priority. This company has been bleeding for 5 years, more or less, and its EPS is much lower than last quarter. Don’t expect any big gains here.)

It won't, this is a correction that is impacting the entire tech sector at minimum, but also QQQ to an extent, and I'm predicting also some more bleeding into SPY.
Look at past corrections -- market falls quicker than it recovers; you're better off buying in a little after the bottom than trying to catch the knife.
Watch TECL, SOXL, and QQQ for viewing the general industry market movement
