Your employees aren't there to have a coolguy manager or fun at work with their coworker friends.
Give them more money or more flexible hours. That's all they care about.

There's some smaller things OP can do that could easily motivate people. For example if this is a sales job at the end of the month the employee with the best sales gets a gift card for $20 to the closest coffee shop

It's a marketing and web development agency
>>9775845
And that's true. I try to be as flexible with that as possible. Everyone can work remotely whenever they want
>>9775856
Does this also work on white people?
>>9775895
I like this. Hadn't thought of doing something like that before.
>>9775899
Also good. Sometimes I forget other people's standards of work and pay.

Look into team biding activities since marketing and web dev require team work and communication.
Give people opportunities and don't just stress the idea of a solid paycheck because it only breeds complacency and producing bare minimum results
t. Restaurant owner that turned around my employee moral by taking everyone to six flags for a weekend, started monitoring things like sales, customer interaction and kitchen metrics and realized your employees will work better when there is a incentive other than just money

>Since everyone is pointing out positive reinforcement, i'll point out negative
lowest common denominator fucks entire departments up. You must sniff out lazy employees and fire them. Offering bonuses and such gives you a reason to outperform, but doesn't pressure you not to slack. The reason not to slack is that the manager can and will fire you if you do. Seriously, this is just as important.

All humans respond predictably to incentives, usually monetary incentives. Offer things like raises, promotions, and bonuses. Or at least gift cards for special achievements, or SOMETHING.

There aren't many ways around this. You get what you pay for.

people always enjoy seeing their work recognized, even if its just words of encouragement. money and time obviously are the most important thing though.

>> No.9777899

actually studies show just paying people more doesnt work as well as youd think. what really motivates people is the feeling that theyre doing something worthwhile and that theyre not just another cog in the machine. but at the same time if youre a total beta male people are goign to resent taking orders from you and will act up because taking orders from a beta male goes against all their natural instincts. some people arent as driven by instincts so they dont care, but your average normie needs a strong male leader with a decent jawline.

>> No.9777981

but when youre doing some gruntwork job that literally any monkey could do, motivation is hard, you just feel like an easily replacable robot of a person. people want to feel like they are worthwhile and not just tools. they want that feeling that hard works will yield them better results not just the same results as putting in minimum effort. they want the companies success to be their success. not just getting paid the same whether they do a good job or just a good enough job, getting paid the same whether the company succeeds or fails.

where is the motivation to work hard when what you do doesnt really matter and you get the same results whether you work hard or just hard enough.

why would you say this? either youre larping or youre very very stupid. did it even occur to you that starting an apartment fire could kill a lot of people? some child in the next apartment maybe burning to death slowly, the mother runs in to save her baby and dies of smoke inhalation. do you never think about that. or does it not even bother you because youre an edgy little psychopathic shit that needs to be purged from society? grow up. and if youre larping because you think this sounds cool, its not, its just edgy cringe shit

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
