This is actually a hilarious situation. Coretards carefully plan the coup, they get the exchanges under political control and ensure that no matter what is actually mined as btc, whatever the core political dev council declares to be btc is what will be listed as btc on exchanges, chain length be damned. They know the miners can't keep mining a chain they can't trade for operating costs, so they figure they've got them by the balls as permanent captive dumb pipe level infrastructure unable to add value to the product.
So miners hard fork with a different difficulty adjustment algorithm so they can build a new product fully controlled by them around the original vision, which when it gets significant market share will permanently kill the btc chain, and there's nothing corecucks can do about it.

Yeah I was really surprised when I heard that and have to wonder if maybe those numbers aren't as big as he think they are. Still, even a thousand convenience stores would be huge. A couple of hundreds would be absolutely fantastic!

So since he didn't say exactly how BCH is coming to the stores I take it with a grain of salt until I hear it is actually implemented and working. I'm assuming that it's some kind of deal with a common legacy payment provider (?) and in that case it might very well be 10s of thousands of stores that get support for BCH.

Don't you see the insanity in this? We already have bitcoin and wallets that work perfectly well. Why are we waiting to build out this second network that requires new software and new adopters instead of just going with the intended method of scaling? Putting all of your faith in LN is madness.

the median fee is 11 cents there big guy.
for months now 1 or 2 sats per byte works fine for getting in next block thanks to segwit and batching.
the current average is LESS than bch's fee in satoshis per byte
that means you'll pay more in USD to use bcash right now if they were the same price.
there are more segwit transactions than bcash transactions too and it was implemented after bcash.
why does bcash suck so bad?

It was probably a combination of coinbase activating segwit and segwit adoption growing to the point it became too costly to spam the network long term in an attempt to force people into using bcash.

Also there's strong reason to believe both coinbase and bitpay were involved, they are connected to Roger, both purposely didn't activate segwit for over 6 months, they both have strong motivation to do so as they want to offer centralized portals that merchants can use for 0 conf transactions.

I'm uncertain which will dominate, if BTC has to die I would rather BCH not replace it over other alts, due to the mining monopoly bitmain has BTC and BCH are no longer trustless or permissionless. Bitmain or the chinese government can easily tamper with both chains at the moment.
