I don't understand why BTC doesn't just increase the blocksize. There are no negatives and the announcement alone would send BCH to 0.

its too late now, the miners won't agree to hard fork since they back BCH. it would have to be put in with a change in the proof of work algo or difficulty adjustment or something

besides luke-jr wants to lower it to 300kb, not increase it lol

this would be fucking irony, they change the algo and get 51% attacked. BCH immediately becomes the most secure network.

because the community for btc are braindead retards causing heavy contention. Just look at what happened with S2X, why would the miners create a fork that might not gain consensus and waste tons of money mining a dead chain? What's funny is this event single handedly proved how the financial incentives of the system work and how a blocksize increase wouldn't lead to decentralization.

Blockstream deliberately crippled BTC with the 1mb cap so they could push their sidechains. The unfortunate part is that LN is complete shit and will never work. Sometimes I think it was sabotage, hard to believe they couldn't see what a failure it would be. So many fucking idiots that came into crypto just this last year drank their kool-aid

Chinese miners threw tantrums and prevented a block size increases a few years before the whole S2X drama. Segwit and lightning were the ways developed to work around them, they changed their mind as soon as they realized they would get less fees.

Realistically segwit reduced congestion enough for the next few years, the biggest mistake was not being aggressive enough in getting exchanges to adopt it. I feel they should have still done a modest block size increase to 2mb-8mb, however I don't believe that would have prevented bcash being created, I think roger and jihan would have just came up with new complaints, they want to control BTC they don't really care about blocksize.

BTC is living on borrowed time, they don't even know it yet. In the Satoshi affair Craig Wright said that he still owned 100,000 Bitcoins. When and not if he decides to move that to bch, it will kill btc forever. All the miners will start mining bch instead, this will lead to btc chain stopping due to the difficulty adjustment algo being so bad. Once it stops, more miners will leave and so on.

Bitcoin Cash was created because we knew there would be no blocksize increase.

more to BCH actually since he'll need to sell more of it for the same amount of cash

Any insiders reading here?
If so now is the perfect time to try and decouple BCH from the rest of the market.
BCH is in the "sucker's rally" section of it's cycle while the rest of the market is triple topping.

satoshi himself put in the 1mb limit you nutcase.
the problem is he didn't do anything to start the process of increasing it.
if he was smarter, he would have started right away and did it early.

Satoshi actually had an ever increasing blocksize initially that got changed over time to be capped.

here is the actual commit where satoshi added the 1mb block size limit and didn't tell anyone.
notice how it says nothing about it in the notes.
he also asked people who found it to keep quiet until it was implemented.
