I am going to repost this from the previous thread and lay out my ideas.

Okay this is a weak thread. Let me give you a real stock that is about to shoot up. FRSH is Papa Murpheys. The company is way undervalued for what they actually produce. They franchise take and bake pizza locations have almost zero overhead and consistently turn a 25% profit on average in stores after accounting for salary and fixed costs. They have 1500 locations and NEVER close stores because they could theoretically waive all fees and sell 20 pizzas a to pay the lease and salaries.

The company continues to maintain its stasis. Buying and holding the brand would make sense, as more and more penetration of the EBT market occurs Papa Murphys is going to naturally increase its market share of the Take and Bake Pizza market.

It has grown slowly over the last 30 years and the current growth trajectory is linear and not exponential. If there is a contraction in market share then the company is not going to have a massive collapse of its franchising system like other brands (Baja Fresh). Growth potential is massive as the entire eastern seaboard has NO penetration and if exponential DOES occur on the Eastern Seaboard the Company could be the next Five Guys.

>> No.935453

>>935446
but why is it about to shoot up? unless you're talking about long term, which i could see being something worthwhile

>> No.935474

>>935446
I'll definitely look into this. Papa Murphy's has a great product and it seems self-evident that as you say their cost of overhead is low.

I'd like to research more before concluding they're undervalued, but I can see it being the case if management hasn't focused much on expansion. To me, they offer a more desirable product than any of the major delivery pizza chains and for a better price. I can't see too many ways for them to fuck it up as long as they just do the same thing and expand.

Looks like a write-down due to a bad investment in Project Pie, LLC which is some kind of hipster Papa Murphy's and a stupid thing they shouldn't have done, although I only see 2.7 million for that when I looked at the news reports and they have 4.1 million extra "unusual expenses" listed so I don't know what the rest of that is.

>>935493
I won't underestimate how lazy people are. But I like getting the pizza fresh from the oven, not paying for delivery, and I think their pizzas are really good. Also I think the other poster was saying since they're uncooked, they qualify for foodstamps. Revenue also is up quite a bit in 2015 vs 2014. Anyway they have another quarterly report due beginning of November, I'll at least have an eye on it.

They might qualify for foodstamps (not sure about that) but papa murphy's is much more expensive than dominoes or any of the other major national chains.

We're living in an increasingly on-demand style economy where the best competitors are those who can provide something instantly, I don't see papa murphy's thriving in that kind of market.

People don't go to a restaurant to buy a meal they make themselves if they're thinking quick pizza. Papa murphy's is extremely niche and they make money off franchise fees and royalties exlcuding their corporate stores, I don't think they can expand past the point they're at.

Just look at the direction all the other pizza companies are moving, they're trying to be more on demand than calling and delivering, adding texting, online ordering even ordering through your television.

Their numbers are pretty bad, long term negative trends. I think they're past their best days and will be put out to pasture in the next 10 years. You might as well invest in blockbuster.

I bought at 88 and it stayed about there all Friday. Really I think it depends on how Greece deals with their debts and the reforms. If they get their shit together it'll go up. If they don't it'll tank.

In either case the EU doesn't seem willing to let then default because of the ripple effect it could have on the rest of the Union.

Basically I'm willing to bet that one way or another Greece will be forced to get their shit together and pay their debts so the value should go up. Only question is should you buy in at 88 or will it drop again before going up?

Wrong.

The 3 day waiting period is required by the government, not Robinhood. The actual process of trading a stock is done solely by computers, but brokers, etc. were charging money for it to happen anyway. These guys just let the computer do the work and charge nothing. They are holding everyone's money in an account that accumulates interest, and they keep the interest. It costs you nothing and you still have access to do whatever you want with your funds at anytime.

ASTI Q3 Report ~2 Weeks Away...

For the first half of 2015, revenue was around $3M, however, the full year 2015 guidance is currently set to $10M - $12M. This means that to beat expectations, ASTI needs to report revenue north of $9M for combined Q3+Q4. According to the company, "the second half of the year has traditionally been a stronger sales period for the Company as well as for the consumer electronics sector overall taking into account the holiday selling season". For this reason, I believe that revenue around or above $4M for Q3 would be a very positive sign and strong indication that the company is delivering ... Not sure when exact date of Q3 is planned but I expect that by mid November the numbers should be out.

The R&D Conference is November 12-13th. It is estimated that they'll release their Q3 profits around that time based on past report releasing dates.

They still have a HUGE consumer base paying the monthly subscription rate. HBO requires you to buy HBO through the cable company to stream online and many people are switching to entirely streamable services like netflix and hulu for entertainment.

More companies are doing it but none of them are doing it as well as netflix, they're still by far the leader in that area. People would rather pay the 10 bucks a month and avoid ads/ streaming issues that come with most of those other channels.

Should have looked into RAD
Need to listen to that guy about those random stocks
I just feel bad after ASTI being fucking dumb

I am still holding until early November, then going to drop it

Also putting in 50 shares of NBG.

Considering dropping the few shares of MSFT I have after those huge gains a few days ago ( I am up $16 but idk where to invest the $107 I would get at)

Same deal with GE which I am up $8 in

Here are my results for the day

Pure speculation. At best you can watch a candlestick chart and hope to get a clue of when it would bounce. If you knew a stock was about to jump that would be insider trading, which is why the CEO, board members, etc. of a company have to keep stuff hush hush when they make a big move.
