Market orders will buy at a price up to 5% more than your market order price.
So if you buy at 100 and the transaction doesn't occur in those split seconds before the stock jumps up to 103/4/5, you pay 103/4/5.
If it jumps to 106 before a completed transaction, it doesn't buy anything.
This is done because robinhood trades are not as fast as other brokers, and it's a way to protect YOU in case shit gets volatile.

Sometimes news mentioning one stock will also mention other stocks. In particular, I was reading about EA and there was a mention about ASTI. I then looked up ASTI myself, if there was any big news going on, how it's been doing in the market for a while.

I highly advice you to always read news that relates to a stock you own/have interest in, as it does affect the price and could lead to other analyst information for other stocks. This one is a pretty risky shot, so I am setting the max to gamble with, and seeing how this goes.

FINALLY got out from this mother effer.

Bought at $55.50 decided to sell at $55.87. Made a whopping $0.32. I'm sure it might go up a few more but don't care, just wanted to free up the funds. Turns out this was a long term stock, not gonna make any quick $ here. On the plus side I did turn a profit at least. And learned a valuable lesson - high dollar stocks that fluctuate less than a dollar every few weeks are not worth it.

so what are your guys thoughts about micron and their possible acquisition of sandisk? it seems like that merge might result in postive gains for the micron stock but competitors like Intel and Samsung could outweigh any gains. Posted in the last thread, or the one before it. Still optimistic about CLH. They are spinning off their oil re-refining segment at the end of the month, and have acquired several companies in Canada to expand their services there. If oil starts to go up again, I'd expect it to follow suit.

But, be warned, winters have always been hard on the company, my two pence.

Yes you can buy and sell immediately as many times as you want, provided you have cash to re-buy each time. There are no limits or tax implications for buying/selling as much as you want with a cash account. Only a margin account has limitations. But now when I look at my account overview, it says I have $3.07 in unsettled funds.

Well, I'd invest in the company I know the best, which is Novo Nordisk. Their CEO just got voted best CEO of the year (Harvard Business Review), and that tells a lot. CEO means a lot in Denmark, compared to the US where it's always a board of directors.
My best guess is they'll rise to $60 within the next half year, which is pretty good.

I'm probably joining the ASTI risk run for 1000 shares. I only have $300 liquid to work with for the next few days, and I want to leave a bit just in case I see something that looks good.

Also bought 20 shares of CLH last week, they will be making their announcement about their re-refining probably at the end of this week or early next week, so their stock should jump nicely. Even if it only jumps $5 (very doable for this stock), I should make out with $50 - $70 profit.

Their MilPak is being presented to the military during a summit on Dec 1-3 so sometime after that.

Another thing to look out for is that the MilPak is also being presented to the GSA (General Services Administration). If the GSA shoots down the MilPak before December it'll be time to jump ship if the GSA shoots them down. I'm not familiar with how quickly the GSA moves but I doubt very quickly.
