2013-er here, still not a millionaire, because I was poor as dirt 2013-2016 and not a fan of risks (so I just mined). Yet I'm pretty sure I'm in the top percentile for actual crypto profits for people who got into crypto in 2013. There's generally a few types of people who got in early:
>Drug-addicted degenerates who lost all
>Techies like me who didn't care about btc all that much and lost their coins in a disk format
>Tons of people lost thousands of bitcoins in Mt.Gox
>Tons of people lost thousands of litecoins, mintcoins and other shitcoins on Cryptsy and Mintpal
People who bought a ton of bitcoins and put them in cold storage are a minority, and they are the only ones who actually made bank.

Similar numbers, but I started with even less. At least I dumped my BTC on ETH early and in TaaS during the ICO. Then flipped my ethers for $5 antshares. Also flipped most of my profits BCH at 0.061 sat.

I could have a house now if I didn't spend it all on drugs. Ironically I quit all drugs but due to the fact that I could've had a house if I didn't use drugs back then I started using again because the thought is soul-crushing and makes me want to off myself. I also had 100 Monero on mintpal :(

jan 1 2017 was the lowest the market cap has been, around 18 billion, at the ATH the cap had increased 45x to 814, so you would have needed to put in around 20k to become a millionaire on average.

but so many popular coins pumped significantly more since then, bitcoin only did 20x, you would have only needed to buy $6k of ethereum to become a millionaire at the ATH, or $2k of ripple.

I bought 2736 ETH at $2.25/ETH in late Jan 2016 and am still holding.

IMO early 2017 was THE best time to get into crypto. Earlier, and chances are that you would have sold/spent/lost them all years ago.

I bought 100 bitcoins between 2013 and 2017 when I was at Uni, spent them all on coke and ket.
