Owning a yacht is for those who've truly made it. Flashy cars are for those poor in spirit and low in IQ.

Personally, I'm eying this starter yacht to reward myself when I finally break into 8 digits

Makes sense to me, Boats cost way more money than some supercar also its more of a status symbol too. Billionaires are always swinging their dick around in the form of yachts

>> No.9061091

When I was younger my grandfather owned a 130 foot yacht. I got to go on a couple trips before he decided it wasn't worth the trouble. It's just a huge money pit and practically wasteful.

they say the best two days of owning a boat: the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
op is just trying too hard as usual.

>> No.9061304

yachts are amazing but you truly need fuck-you money to get one. Like, be a literal billionaire. IMO renting a beautiful boat for $150k/week once a year makes a lot of sense, especially if you have rich friends and can split the price 3 or 4 ways. You could probably get some instagram thots to join you for the week too.

A SINGLE WEEKEND TRIP ON A 60 FOOT YACHT WILL RUN YOU ROUGHLY $75K INCLUDING GAS AND CREW. SO IF YOU WANTED TO GO OUT ONCE A WEEK YOU JUST NEED $3.9MM/YEAR FOR YOUR YACHT ALONE, PLUS MAINTENANCE COSTS. THE YACHT WILL OF COURSE DEPRECIATE AT AN ALARMING RATE, SO THE $2-3MM YOU SPENT FOR UPSTART IS ALSO GONE. FOR THREE YEARS OF GLORIFIED YACHT PLAY YOU'LL WANT TO SET ASIDE A MINIMUM OF $10-15MM. OR YOU COULD JUST BE A BITCH AND GO OUT LIKE 10 TIMES A YEAR, THEN YOU ONLY NEED LIKE $5MM. EASY.

100k for a weekend trip does not sound so bad ;) most of monaco larger yacht owners are listed on forbes list or could be listed if their net worth was public, there are individuals not public net worth that might be very high at forbes richest list.

if you're worth 20m just forget it, you will be laughed at and cant afford it. if you cant buy better or equal than a neighbor harbor toys, then no point of buying at all :D

Tbh I'd probably get like a used carver c34 or something. But a ski boat/fishing boat/ deck boat combo is probably more useful and will be more fun. Unless you're talking mega yacht on the ocean they're not very useful for anything but lounging around.

I much rather spend it on some Elon Musk like project, makes me much harder then getting some head from some irrelevant bitch.

People that buy this shit just have no fucking imagination.

Its not that I am saying you should behave or something and not flaunt your wealth, its just that I think your just a very sad piece of human being if that is all you can come up with if you have that kind of money.

Every time I see these big boats in Monaco etc. I am reminded of the fact that even a large portion of our best are really sad un-creative pieces of meat.

I find it the most saddening expression a human being could ever make.

Its a big fucking anticlimax.

I never hear/see people flaunting their investments in new biotech companies. In fact, although credit is plenty full, they are brutally under invested. No I think it is an accurate assesment that the induvidual that has a 50M plus yacht is an uninspired piece of disappointment.

8 digits is a minimum of $10,000,000

as a general rule you dont want to spend more than 10% of your net worth on a yacht, so 60 footer like this would do you well:

like this yacht is the same price as a upscale sports car and can easily handle a family of 4
