https://wolfstreet.com/2018/04/11/how-much-are-banks-exposed-to-subprime-more-than-we-think/

They are lending to the loaners who loan to the subprime lenders. The big banks don't do subprime loans directly like they did in 08, when you didn't need alot of collateral. The 2nd and 3rd tier loaners are beginning to default.

New to options. What's the downside of buying a call below the share price? I'm seeing higher delta, lower theta, and lower strike price, but the only downside is a higher premium? Why not mitigate risks of the contract expiring (and potentially increase earnings)?

I see. I think I was confused then - "out of the money" calls have higher rates of return but are riskier. Then that means a call below the strike price is instantly "in the money," but is only a loss until it breaks even. Do most people make "in the money" or "out of they money" contracts?

Prepare for some action tomorrow in the marijuana sector. Things are picking up momentum in the US much more rapidly than I expected. It seems that Jeff Sessions did indeed inadvertently accelerate political action on this issue. The democrats are now starting to make moves that indicate they may run of a platform that includes federal legalization in the 2019 election.

Two stories were reported today; 1. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D) has gone on record saying he intends to introduce a bill to remove cannabis from Schedule I. 2, Bernie Sanders is co-sponsoring a federal legalization bill now. The Schumer thing is realistic. The Bernie thing is premature and will fail, at least on the first attempt.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomangell/2018/04/19/top-senate-democrat-pushes-bill-to-end-marijuana-prohibition/#32dbaac96051

Obscene amounts of money to be made from this. Once this thing picks up enough steam it will be unstoppable.

Personally I don't care at all whether weed is or is not legalized. I very rarely use the stuff. My interest in the sector is money. This is potentially the biggest bubble I have ever been in a position to capitalize from near the ground level.

If you want to exercise the call ifs best to buy in the money, if you want opportunity for more gains on the option value then you can buy out of the money and hope for a reversal in your favor

do you know where you are?

also, spot on about Sanders, everything he touches seems to turn to shit. And you might not want to be so optimistic about MJ getting rescheduled: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/08/dea-marijuana-schedule-decision/495458/

Left wingers talk big game to appeal to retarded single-issue stoners and swing lolbertarians, but nothing will be rescheduled.

>> No.8996084

>do you know where you are?

I was very late on the crypto thing. This one I think i'm early.

Don't be so sure about the rescheduling. It depends on the how the elections go this fall, what kind of numbers the dems ultimately have to push it through, and how many republicans they can pull votes from. Sessions' thing brought out a few from the GOP side crying foul as well, mainly from the position of protecting state's rights.

I know that one of the new blockchain coins will inevitably take off, but I can't wrap my head around how many people are just blindly throwing there neatbucks at shit to see what sticks. This reminds me of a couple years ago when everyone was trading the McAfee stock and its not like the company was actually doing jack shit, it was just like, McAfee was this godly figure in all the shitposters minds and everyone was awaiting 'enlightenment' or something so he could take them to the moon. Maybe I'm out of touch or out of the loop, but I feel like I understand this side of the market to make money regularly Crypto is like buying lottery tickets. I maybe have 5% of my portfolio in bitcoin just for the hell of it

I couldnt believe my eyes when i had a look this year thinking i could make a buck based on Ryzen 2 leaks. All these famous tech stocks are bloated as hell right now, but at least most of them have the success to back it up.

I aint touching AMD unless it dips back to $3

You're right about the large caps, although i do think ACB, APH, and maybe CRON can 2x this year. Moon missions will be the domain of the secondary companies, things like grow equipment/greenhouse, vaporizers, chemical extraction (oils) and so on. A lot of those are still in penny stock territory but have deals in place with the large LPs.
