Ending my neetdom, I got two different job offers, either as a teacher at a charter school for science, or working in the field as a STEM guy analyzing chemicals.

Really leaning towards the more free time as the teacher. Bad idea? (midwest)

See which one would accomodate your lifestyle financially. Secondly, what are you looking for in a career? The feeling of success (STEM would be contributing to some kind of development id assume) or helping others achieve success (youre now the teacher getting students top grades)....

err 'more free time' ...mfw you need to learn about life.

You're looking to do something where you can find as little time as possible to do it. Wrong attitude. Besides, if you didnt enjoy STEM then go be a teacher for a bit and if that sucks then move on.

I work in computing so most aspects of computing interest me therefore i can work on projects. So, for me the number 1 priority is picking up more skills, then the money and then 'how much free time can i squeeze from this'

A lot of analytical chemistry jobs have plenty of free time. Take sample, maybe prepare it for a bit, inject into some kind of chromatography device, wait an hour, repeat, fill out a report form every once in a while. Teachers have to grade a shit ton of homework.

The technology has allowed people to take more leisure, but it's the same trap they fell into in Europe.

After the industrial revolution when they had the opportunity to work less and get the same done, they took it. At that same time, the USA didn't take the same amount of leisure and was able to get ahead through innovations.

The same thing is happening in China.

Take the STEM job, dummy. If you're exiting NEETdom, the last thing you want to jump into is being an underpaid professional punching bag for a wild gang of vicious little monsters. Children are awful. Go enjoy a decent salary to run tests by yourself or with a small team or whatever and not have to deal with a lot of people.

It's hilarious how underpaid teachers are in the US. The fact is it's too easy to get a generic Bachelor's degree in teaching, the requirements are set too low, which is why you see so many dumb overweight white women in teaching. I'm planning on receiving my Master's in Teaching and moving to Japan, where teachers are respected and receive a wage you can actually live off of.

Not to mention getting up at 5:30 to get to school early before it starts at 7:15 in the morning. Upwards of 30 kids per class and 6 classes means 150 - 180 students to keep up with.

Teaching takes up 10 - 15 hours of the day if you include driving to and from school with lesson creation and paper grading. If you want to be a teacher prepare for it to be your life.

I was a teacher until this year. It seems like there are a lot of us on this board.

True advice:
>You'll work 10 hour days, weekends, evenings. Before factoring commutes.
>Everything is your fault
>Parents and even coworkers will assume the worst of you just because you are male, but not an administrator.
>You will struggle to find a time of day you can so much as step out to piss
>It's very rewarding if you're good/likable
>Classroom management is everything
>Reiterating you will never have free time: You work past the school year into June, you start before it in August. Your only true vacation time is in July, but it doesn't make up for all the stress and overtime you put in during the year. I put in about 4-8 hours every Sunday, for reference.

Maybe STEM isn't so bad. I taught English, so if I assigned a simple one page paper, I just generated 150 pages of reading for myself. My whole week is gone for an assignment 90% of the kids won't even try on.

>Teachers are legally exempt from overtime for a reason. The state knows it's going to work you like a slave and can't afford to actually pay you.
>Americans' value of education is nothing but lip service. No one protects, values, or supports you outside of some mandatory feel-good meetings you'll be dying to sneak out of.
>I stopped teaching to go back to STEM. Now working boring-ass IT job but making 5x more.
>I can risk tens of thousands of dollars on crypto memes and still have my previous teacher's salary left over

I loved working with most of the students, but everything else was trash. The faculty, the admins, the parents, the community, the politics, the endless stream of mind-numbingly pointless-yet-mandatory trainings and meetings. Most of the female coworkers are teachers because they never mentally left high school in the first place.

You could always try it for a year or two and see what you think, but don't go in thinking it's going to be a cakewalk or you'll get steamrolled.

Sure, everyone has their approach. Most people are using one applied method or another. Its never different most things have been tried and tested so you can apply the same things to crypto charting.

1. Learn the wyckoff method - go read about it, go watch vids by Bruce Fraiser. Dont half ass it spend some time on this

2. Learn about 'springs' 'upthrusts' (other charists refer to these as swing lows and swing highs)

3. Learn about support and resistance. Learn how to use fib values. check out tensorcharts to see what the other book is doing around these levels

4. 5 years from now you'll be a seasoned traders. I'm a year into myself, still learning plentiful.

5. biggest thing, learn about risk management so you dont get rekt'd.
