Tbh almost no one in crypto looks at whitepapers etc or even understand the tech, i just followed the hype like probably most people do here, it was good and i should have cashed out when i had the chance, i mean i went from $600 to 6k so it wasn't a bad investment i was just a greedy piece of shit.
And i didn't fall for the warnings because people said it was all a FUD and the only argument was 'muh scam' but there wasn't any real proof of that like Confido or Bitconnect etc etc, yeah it was a shitcoin but come on, a lot of shitcoins in this market are worth a lot only due to hype and i thought this was the case (well it was at $240)

Lol i remember back in 2016 when i made shilling pics about ETH when it was $3 just to joke around, then i left the board, never took crypto seriously, it is what it is i guess.

thing is with investments based on hype / speculation is that it eventually dies out, and there's no real way to figure out when that is when everybody is looking to do the same.
if you don't have something like an exit strategy your decisions are left to you emotions, and emotion is the worst possible investor. your happy when things are up so you want to buy more, scared when things go down and want to sell. ie buy high sell low.

I'd advise you to pull out of crypto entirely as well but convincing people is almost impossible when their financial understanding revolves around it

I am writing this because of my obsession of justice and fairness. My previous post today was all about being positive. Anyone can or could choose to stay negative too. But some people started to call this project a scam which is a big allegation and it is not fair. So I wanted to write a response to those people.

To people who call this project a scam;

First of all, do you guys understand what is a scam? If someone offers a product and if some other people buy it, it is a business. And that is what happened in this case. BTCP team offered a product and some people (including me) have bought it. Before the fork and afterwards, free market determined the price and still does. BTCP team delivered the promised product. They didn't steal anyone's money, zcl or btc. They kept their promises. Yes, they are behind when it comes to exchanges but it is not entirely their fault. They applied but the rest is up to the exchanges and once again, the exchanges are being managed very poorly. I am wondering which part of all this is a scam?

Calling someone a scammer is a big insult. If you guys stand behind such a defamation, find an attorney and sue the BTCP team. I'm pretty sure that a lot of lawyers will be very interested in your case. In addition to that, media and politicians will love it too. Calling someone a scammer multiple times doesn't make that person a scammer.

>> No.8804041

>>8804033
Before calling some people scammers, understand the fundamentals of business/free market instead of patronizing other people and giving them financial advices such as "sell your btcp and move on". We may lose more money at this or we may make more but this is simply business. It was your decision to invest in BTCP as well as mine. Just because the free market didn't meet your expectations until now, you can't call some people scammers.

What you guys do is not just or fair. This is wrong against these people. I don't know any of them but I understand how frustrating it must be to read some people calling you a scammer.

To @heyrhett and the BTCP team;

If you guys believe in what you are doing, don't even be bothered with what these people say. If I were in your shoes, I would be mad like hell but I would work 24/7 until they simply shut up and maybe apologize if they have some kind of a spine or morality. I would take bold steps and do crazy stuff. I would even go to China and knock on Binance's door. Because being called a scammer without any ground is not fair and it is purely irritating. It would make me furious but I would use that frustration as a motivation tool. So simply just prove them wrong.

And to the BTCP community;

Don't listen to these baseless slanders. Sorry for such long posts. Keep having a great weekend.

Btw, this is my second post in one day anywhere first time ever. What an achievement for me!!!

Can someone give me a meme-up 4chan version of the story? Greentext if it's funnier. I scanned through the first dozen hits on Google and there's nothing about Rhett getting free money from dumbfucks.

>> No.8804199

>>8804090
Well the TLDR is
>Zcash {ZEC} is created with a 20% dev fund.
>Rhett forks the code and launches Zclassic (ZCL).
>It ends up getting abandoned.
>Rhett ends up launching two other coins including Whalecoin that also end up abandoned.
>In early December he announces Bitcoin Private, A fork of both Zclassic (ZCL) and bitcoin. Bitcoin with added privacy. ZCL is trading under $2 and the holders of each token get as much BTCP as the holders of BTC. The price increases 12,500% in less than two months to $250 before the fork.
>Everyone thinks they are getting a huge discount on the next new Bitcoin fork.
>Fork happens and there is basically no hype or exchange support.
>Basically opens at around $60 and has been dropping for the past month.

I think it is back to $16 today

>> No.8804263

>>8804090
Tl; dr: 2 huge volume spikes in ZCL, a shitcoin all but dead and buried (first one Rhett, the other one the team/insiders). BTCP fork announced, ZCL starts climbing. Retards think because it has Bitcoin in the name, normies will eat it up. But we're in 2018 now so Bitcoin is synonymous with scam, Ponzi, fad etc for normies. BTCP is basically ZCL with 3 lines of code removed so no one in crypto wants it either. The shitter launches, Rhett and gang have cashed out their ZCL by now. It trades up to $800 on KuCoin despite being unlisted. Then it just keeps crashing, no serious exchange wants to touch this obvious scam and so it's confined to shit tier exchanges like TradeSatoshi with a total volume of bout tree fiddy. Even the delusional retards at Reddit are losing all hope.

>> No.8804291

Kinda funny how 90% of the people holding after the fork don't realise they got pump and dumped. They blame exchanges for not wanting to support their shitty "fork".

As far as I can tell they forked ZCL, changed the name, and air dropped bitcoin holders. That's it. Somehow it should be worth tens of billions of dollars.

>> No.8804408

>bought zcl back in sept/oct

if anybody would wish to hear a slightly different perspective with this whole debacle I can offer my story:

You have to understand first how i even came across this coin, for those around it was when forked coins were hyped up especially with bitcoin cash doing so well, i remember typing into google "forked zcash coins" and came across Zcoin and Zclassic,

there were literally 2 videos on youtube when i found this coin each with about 1k views. i remember thinking even the guy explaining how this coin works did not sound optimistic about the price, and i can assure you NOBODY expected it to go as high as it did.

Keeping all this in mind, throughout the whole hype surrounding the fork it was so obvious to me that this fork had been priced in months ago. In my mind when i saw this coin it was valued at 1.72 and was never worth more than $30 a coin and still isnt

i think being a somewhat /oldfag give you more perpective on a particular coin. There was virtually no community when i joined it with virtually no expectations and all of a sudden its the next big thing and everybody is talking about it how rich it is going to make them...

if i can give you a shred of advice it is, dont find projects with hype surrounding them, you need to dig one level deeper and uncover stuff on your own. If you do that then one day you might find that perfect project, that gem which you just know is going to be something big. At which point you All. fucking. in.
