OH NO NO NO NO

*inhales*

>During preliminary talks with Coinbase last fall, Ripple said it would be willing to lend the exchange more than $100 million worth of XRP to start letting users trade the asset, according to a person privy to that discussion. Ripple, without putting the proposal in writing, told Coinbase it could pay back the loan in XRP or dollars, the person said. If the exchange had chosen the latter, it could have profited had the tokens become more valuable upon being listed, the person said.

Gemini and Coinbase both declined to pursue the proposals, the people said.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Every coin pays to be on exchange.
This is pure paid hitpiece by the lowest ranks of bloomberg typewriter jockeys.
Looks like XRP is prepping for some major news.

Not for the real exchanges Gemini and Coinbase. They wouldnt take even 100 million dollars to add a rando coin. You cant buy your way into being a real cryptocurrency.

It explains in the article that the only thing keeping them from listing ripple is legal troubles about ripple possibly being categorized as a security by the FTC. Ripple is literally being held back by a legal technicality that will probably be fixed within the next five years. At which point, when more (((regulation))) comes in, the coin will be the only one that doesn't get slaughtered.

Also XLM seems okay, and who knows which smart contract coin will win.

>Whichever market maker offers the tightest spread takes the sending currency, trades it into XRP, transfers the XRP to the destination (in just a few seconds), trades it into the destination currency and then settles it in the destination account.
