Stocks are not the economy. Stocks are money flow. Money flow came from QE and carry trades. No money flow = no rally. All this news is BS. It's just noise. You either have positive money flow into stocks or you don't. Raising rates + QE unwind is taking money out of the economy. It means negative money flow. £500 rather than euros (which, with current exchange rates, is probably less than 550 euros unfortunately). I've maxed out my pension contributions and have a good scheme, so I think about £500 goes into that each month from me and my employer combined. Other than that I've put a little bit into cryptocurrencies (£250 overall, now worth £1,100, although it was up at £4,500 a few months ago) and a help-to-buy ISA (£1,500). But my main pot is the S&P100 tracker (not S&P500). Should be pretty safe in retirement I think, even if I never earn too much more than I currently do.
