Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

You do realize that whoever buys TSLA is fried too, right? I would buy SpaceX too at first. But the whole thing is worthless then. The question is SpaceX as bad as TSLA financially? If they are ok, they will never buy this pile of shit. If they are just as profitable as TSLA, which is a possibility, we will find out if and when it starts trading. Given the subsidies SpaceX receives, it makes sense to drop TSLA. But TSLA is done. It will drop a lot. The fact that Musk did CYA "joke" probably means no buy out. SpaceX has no money to buy this now anyway and TSLA will spiral.

be careful with anything involving naked options.
if you are new to options, do not trade them.
if you only have 76 shares of GILD, you cant do a covered call against it (need 100). your broker might still allow it if you have margins, but be careful trading naked options that you dont understand very well.

While I am bagholdig it, I wanna try something new.

As for the execution, the 5/4 78 GILD call is quoting @1.83

So, if I sell to open 1 call, I will get 183$ in premium

If I want to close the contract before expiration, I have to buy it back at whatever the price this contract is quoted right ?

Options can have pretty sad liquidity. If there isn't any action, the market makers will set the bid/ask spread real wide to try to make a buck off of people's market orders. If you're in a hurry to get out of your underlying position, then you might have to pay a lot to buy it back with a market order. ooh. another strat i just came up with.
reverse collar.

normally, you do a collar by selling an OTM call and buying a long OTM put. if youre bearish and want out, sell a call ITM, use the premium to buy on ITM put, let the stock fall, buy back the contract when its low, and exercise your put (which ideally is above where you are now).

but thats only if you want out

Reminder that whilst behind initial projections, Tesla has produced around half a billion dollars worth of Model 3 cars and the production rate has only just started to ramp up. They're currently up to around 1200 cars per week. It was only around half of that a month ago. The current trend suggests that production will be double that with a few more weeks.

I have a limited real knowledge in REIT
But I have some thoughts on REIT and inflation
- REIT declares 2 kinds of income : rent income and asset appreciation
- it may look sensible for an asset to appreciate in nominal price whenever there is inflation
- but rents are usually fixed based on time defined contracts and I failed to see how higer inflation will translate into higher rents

thats a good point. ive just been comparing charts of various ones and noticing that they tend to go up during times of inflation. couldnt say the actual mechanics, just that it is statistically likely to happen. but the real money is flipping covered calls against the dividends. thats my new plan. hold the underlying for huge divs, collect premiums on covered calls, flip em on the div dips. the hard part is gonna be timing the ex div date, because you can get assigned early by people buying up extra shares

It's not the research issue, it's extrapolation issue. The base is so low, that Musk can have doubling of production in short time. Extrapolating exponential process leads to big numbers. M3 sales are tiny in comparison to other cars, so it's easy to extrapolate. It's a fucking hand made economy car made in limited numbers. Literally a worthless comparison to last Q or last year. right, i was being hyperbolic, but if you look at it proportionally, its fucking ridiculous how much tax breaks they get. same thing with this net neutrality thing. i have a sneaking suspicion that the only parts of the internet that are going to run into trouble are the bandwidth hogs like netflix, facebook, amazon etc. its a similar situation there, where proportionally, they are getting their bandwidth for essentially free. its why im so bearish on all of that shit
