If you bought a BTC for 1k and sold for 10k. Youre taxed on the 9k in between. Instead of doing that, just let them tax you for the whole 10k. Its way easier and they wont bother you. That's what I did. Just taxed everything as if I got it for $0. Sure I had to pay more but with all the fuckery around the taxes it was the best way to ensure safety.

Filed my taxes weeks ago. I just wrote what I converted into fiat from crypto and the IRS accepted it.

If it hasnt been converted back to fiat, i wouldnt worry. Check whatever exchange you originally deposited fiat into, check the total you withdrew, calculate the difference and report that
