Look all you need to know is aBunch of 4channers tried to force it as /ourcoin/, during the presale ico phase of chainlink there was a minimum requirement of 300eth to enter the presale. Bunch of anons pooled up together and shared presale links to fill them with their eth.

Coin continued to get shilled and pumped up and hyped for the sibios event that link was attended, whole event turned out to be a flop chainlink had a presentation in a room of like 18 people next to the public toilets, literally no news or partnership came from the event and the coin dumped back to below ico prices and created 1000's of bagholder anons.

Now during this alt bull run lots of anons and took advantage of this and shilling this coin to all the new money and newfags that joined in december and don't know this story.

The coin is HEAVILY manipulated and the supply is dried up from huge whales who accumulated below ICO price to create a artificially lower supply (a lot like REQ) and these people have so much room to dump on all of you faggots to still be in profit when the time comes.

In regards to actual project that chainlink aiming to achieve it's nothing more than a basic json parser for smart contracts, would take like a day to add to ethereum by itself.. literally making links whole concept pointless and definitely no need for a token. Would take a lot longer to get it working with bitcoin but the bitcoin core devs would be able to work out the solution a lot quicker than chainlink will, think that's something worth noting that literally nothing is completed and you're literally just buying a whitepaper, they have only 2 developers and they don't communicate at all with no proven background on either, in fact sergey was involved in a project before chainlink called NxT that he since been abandoned until it was took over by a new developer team

Its just a /biz/ meme. It started out a pajeets shilling link as per /biz/ usual. But then all the 17-23 yo's thought it would be funny to make it a may may and shill it hard like it was the most glorious thing ever (when they weren't playing cod on moms xbox). This all started with comfy threads which turned into meme chart threads which branched into $1000 by EOY threads etc etc.

Truthfully no one on /biz/ actually owns any of the stuff. The whole purpose is to sucker newfags into buying it and then laughing at their misfortune. Its the /biz equivalent of fingerboxes, like whatever, freezing the price of your bitcoin, etc. The modus operandi is to attack anyone who talks shit as a fud'er or to bring up meme stats or whatever to make it look like its not shit.

OP you see how ETH is worth $1000. Well it's worth a grand because it has smart-contracts. Smartcontracts are pretty simple. They allow you to program the money to do shit that's guaranteed.

Here's an example

When Bob sends Alice 1 ETH. Alice instantly sends Bob 1000 KNC.

Cool right? Well the thing is that's completelyuseless. Smartcontracts right now only work with blockchain data. Why would you wanna exchange alts just use an exchange. ETH blew up in pricebecause everyone (including corporations thought they would be the future).

This is where LINK comes in. LINK holders run nodes that convert non-blockchain chain data into blockchain data. The node runners get paid in more LINK based on how much LINK they put in the node.

I'm hoping you already realize how huge this is? But alas here another example of smartcontracts with LINK.

When Bob sends AMC 1 ETH, AMC instantly sends Bob a movie ticket.

Do you get how huge this is? All the shitty tokens shilled right here on this board most are going to need access to 3rd party data and to do that they are going to use LINK's nodes in one way or another.

Personally, I think LINK is going to lead to a rush of new ICOs since tokens will be able to easily access decentralized 3rd party data.

smart contracts need real world data to actually have value. right now the only option is to go through a centralized oracle. this makes the process not completely decentralized since the bridge between the two is run by a private third party. chainlink brings a decentralized network of nodes to make the entire smart contract process decentralized and transparent, giving them the potential for actual real world adoption. you're welcome
