I interviewed (accepted and decided to not accept the offer) in the early days of Coinbase. Coinbase is an engineering mess that used to actually run on heroku. They handled people's money with nodejs, mongodb that ran on heroku, a service where you don't even buy and manage your own servers and everyone even the worst retarded intern who got hired because of nepotism could deploy to production with a simple git command.

Nowadays I hear they are a bit better though. I am a bit bitter because I could have a made a shit ton of money if I joined back then. But holy shit at some point they are going to be hacked (from within actually not from outside), and that day crypto in the US will die.

I was fine even before my credit union reversed it but 3 grand is a lot more then most people make in a month.
