If this were really happening each bank that's affected would immediately stop transactions with them after a few confirmed reports, because they'd be losing a ton of money having to insure their customers. Then the bank would investigate and file a lawsuit as well as criminal charges, not to mention those affected could file as well.

That's what you get for hiring trustfund soy boys "SJW on twitter but racist closeted-nazi in person" from Stanford to write shitty untested javascript instead of honest and hardworking anarchists from Berkeley who write Rust, Java and C++

I interviewed (accepted and decided to not accept the offer) in the early days of Coinbase. Coinbase is an engineering mess that used to actually run on heroku. They handled people's money with nodejs, mongodb that ran on heroku, a service where you don't even buy and manage your own servers and everyone even the worst retarded intern who got hired because of nepotism could deploy to production with a simple git command.

Nowadays I hear they are a bit better though. I am a bit bitter because I could have a made a shit ton of money if I joined back then. But holy shit at some point they are going to be hacked (from within actually not from outside), and that day crypto in the US will die.

If you respect yourself make a throwaway bank account with your main bank and never link your main checking.

Yeah I get offended by people who are willfully stupid and ignorant. You think you have to give login credentials to a company for them to debit your account? You must be really young and from a shithole country.

Seems to me scrolling through the thread it's exclusively happening to people who buy with credit or debit cards. I myself only have my bank account linked and I have been making purchases regularly without any double charges.

Reports are up to 17x. I spent approx 1000 on impulse crypto buys in the last month and was charged 3x that amount. I was fine even before my credit union reversed it but 3 grand is a lot more then most people make in a month. Infact, when I first called, my bank wasn't going to do anything about it until others had reported the same problem.

Holy fuck, now the FUD'ers are actually having an effect on people's lives. Had to waste 5 minutes of my day to go check my bank account. Low and behold there wasn't a single transaction that I hadn't done myself.
Leave it to the McDonald's crew to put repeating transactions on, forget about it, overdraw their account, and go on to blame Coinbase for their retardation.

Also possible that after they linked their accounts through the third party that processes those, that they didn't change their bank password. Possible they don't have 2 step verification set up. Possible that was you say is true. And also possible that an issue with database is causing errors to recharge purchases.

Same here. You don't own the money automatically even if it is in your bank account. If you get a suspicious money from somewhere your responsibility is to investigate where it came from and return it if it is an accident. If you are aware that the money sent to you was possibly accidental, and you don't return it and instead spend it, you have commited a crime.

yeah, hadn't read a single one ... besides removing it is kinda pointless if this is happening by mistake or system error its too late - they have your bank account anyway but i can't see any transactions happening without me confirming on my "checking account" with no debit/credit function ... and no confirmation

>>7682919

i won't do anything ... but as i said i don't have any debit/credit card function set on coinbase/gdax only deposited dosh by wire

others claimed its only a couple of banking branches as well - who knows? maybe fuckers had some kind of reset <> backup cycle that got fucked

all in all ... i'm sure those jews @ coinbase have enough money to resolve this quickly
