Chain forked at 478588, BCH granted to potentially weak hands; 16.482M, quick look at volumes on monthly candles since on Bitfinex gives around 8M worth, Bitfinex is a pretty small slice of the total cake, I don't have quick access to Okex, Bithumb and the higher volume BCH exchanges numbers, and units may have changed hands multiple times, I'm not sure how one might reliably quantify the actual amount of BCH left in the hands of the opposition beyond "Well it got pumped and they couldn't sell anymore, ergo they must not have it".
Anyone have any better ideas?

This volume pattern does appear to be consistent across all exchanges I have easy volume data access to. It does make sense that it would start to hit negligible levels of the previous trend around now.

these are wallets who have bought or accumulated after the fork and have never sold a single coin. its like 1.5 million BCH in these wallets, and that doesnt count the tons of wallets with 100k+ but have sold or transferred small amounts but mostly buying

This outcome is so obvious I wonder what it is that the core faction have in mind to counteract it. They have to realise that they're going to have to compete with an actual genuine execution of the original vision, with all that implies regarding their hash rate supply as well as the price of their asset relative to BCH when BCH has a significant float of global commerce.
