How many times do I have to tell you people? It never existed in the first place. That's not what market capitalization is for. It's for valuating the entirety of a company/offering for sales purposes. Since bitcoin has no centralized owner market cap is 100% irrelevant.

All I know is someone transfered their wealth to me. Thanks whoever bought the top lmfao
>>7405851
We used it as a measure of money flow into the market. The number is irrelevant, it’s the trend that matters.

market capitalization is number of outstanding shares multiplied by the price. this is 9th grade economics retard

yeh, the metric of supply*price is a useful one but we really should stop calling it market cap

you're an idiot. unless you explain your retarded ass definition of market cap in a sensible, rational matter, then i will just assume your portfolio went -900%

>We used it as a measure of money flow into the market.
Which is entirely wrong, because the price can change without new money coming in. if some bot or wash trader drives a price up 2x selling to themselves, market cap doubles without any new money coming in. do you understand now why it doesn't mean what most people think it does?

but, the trend does indeed matter especially because people *think* it's important

the crash that happened yesterday, whales were scooping it all up from normies. By the end of the year, if you don't own bitcoin you're dead.

>> No.7406158

>>7406022
market cap is the cost for whales to accumulate the entire supply at the current price, which in itself is just an abstract idea, but which has actual importance when looking at price action and understanding price

I think so. I mean, look at tokens or coins like Moria or ShipChain. They are or were open only to accredited investors.

There's big money moving in and they're buying certain things.
