well since tax reform has been passed a lot of the speculative hype around the rising stocks has been realized so there is not a lot of room for falling honestly

it might fall 10ish precent then stop cause tax reform is playing big into company profitability which is driving stock growth

also do you think its a good thing to just have low interest rates forever so we ramp inflation like a mother fucker

no

the interest rates had to climb eventually and the fed is being gentle with it

we also cant help that treasury bond yeilds have gone up so people are taking money from stocks and putting it into those cause its technically more secure

haha, I'm not on /biz because I own crypto, i'm here because this is the business and finance board. I sold my btc at $15500 when it started trending down. Because, see, crytoshills don't believe in TA, they think it's magic money that will go up forever. Even when you had level headed anons coming onto the board saying "guys, this is a bubble" they would get shouted down by stinky linkies and cryptofaggots. yes which is why I'm a monetarist and not a keynesian

boom and bust is basically fixed by rule based monetary policy which only injects cash into the money supply as it corresponds with real GDP growth

this stabilizes inflation, and thus consumer purchasing power which makes everything NICE and steady with minimal room for any problems, and if there are its a pretty simple fix you can either remove currency from the overall supply or add more

also a world without fractional reserve banking would be filled with horrendously slow economic growth as only those with money would have money *for the most part*

Trump tweaking a few things with tax cut here, regulate there, deregulate over there and some tariffs is miniscule compared to the underlying issues caused by the entire planet being massively overleveraged, failing to deleverage during a decade of low interest rates, all of the malinvestment caused by QE/Artificially low rates.

We won't know the next sub-prime straw that will break this camels back but you're thinking too micro here and missing the macro picture. A picture of demographic chances, of poor economic performance for a decade despite more stress just around the corner from this "recovery".

I'm pessimistic at the moment, Trump doesn't even design half of the policies, one man can't hold together an empire like the god emperor, those under him are just as fallible as he is and so is the rest of the market and the socialists that have undermined it for a century. 12-24months of nationalism doesn't fix that.

hm, establishing strong economic fundamentals in manufacturing, energy, exporting, jobs, wages, consumer power. Sounds like a good foundation for growth to me. Then again, we're used to literal scam artist career politicians running country instead of a savvy businessman who knows what it takes to earn his money and grow his businesses. Why do you think the first thing Trump did was get all the big business owners together for talks? Because he understands that it's going to take real business leadership to make america great again, rather than the scumbags on capitol hill that are nothing more than parasites.

There is a big worry about this China + Russia train track + pipeline to Europe which would catapult them in the oil industry unless the US can actually take advantage of its domestic sources. I don't know, it's just not that easy and Trump can't control millions of bureaucrats and aspects to a global and local economy without exposing some underlying issues from his predecessors. I feel like it all depends on whether the economy's actually improved to the degree that the stock market's risen. If not, eventually the stock market will bear that out. The U.S. has had a lot of growth, but a disproportionate amount (compared to what it used to be) has gone to the wealthiest, who play stocks but don't actually buy as much as working and middle class families.
