Why did Amazon go from $86 (1999) to $6 (2001)?

because there was a crash and they just sold everything there was, see this as a prime example to find a great bargain. this doesnt apply to crypto though because its all shit

So amazon was actually more like $100 around the end of 1999, but then the dotcom crash happened, and amazon went way down like every other online stock. This has largely been generally seen as a result of panic selling and general wariness of dotcom companies. A lot of dotcom companies were just tanking around 2001.

has nothing to do with that, when they do a stock split the previous charts are reflected down with the split.

They had huge losses and there was a massive sell off of internet stocks.
