It is not people with $5k portfolios causing this much of a market movement. It is institutions, high-frequency traders that will be onto the news as soon as it is released.
How about the fact the CME futures contracts settle tomorrow - this is far more likely to be a driver of the price considering some of these institutions trade over $100 million in a day. To maximise their short positions they need the close price as low as possible.

No one really knows, but technically, emotionally and momentum-wise bitcoin (and all coins really) are in a downward fall. Its a self-feeding frenzy at this point and lately there has been absolutely no good news to prop it up.
It has long term value perhaps, but long term in the likeness of dot com stocks in the 90's fading out and reviving a decade later.
But who really knows? I personally would not be buying anything for the foreseeable future and I would sell anything I had after this next bounce which will happen over the next few days

btc is like AOL in 1995. it will be relevant for a while until something better replaces it. i bought it and it started dropping so i just decided to hold and see what happens. its 100 dollars it wasnt enough for me to even sell and try to get an altcoin

>> No.7181456

>>7181179
I thought so as well. But it seems the usual rules don't apply. There is no real bounce. Just slow and painful bleeding to death.

How many times do I have to tell you?
Bitcoin is going to $1000.

There are alternatives that are better in every way.
Ethereum being the most notable.

Lightning is garbage and will not save BTC.

Lightning is modeled like the banking system is.
Do you know the fundamental property of the banking system?
Banks are allowed to loan out 400% money more than they have. can't do that with btc.

To have any liquidity, you must have an account with a central hub that owns your key.
Otherwise you'll be limited to spending 1/15th of the median channel size, or roughly $66, based on the very generous idea that people will put 1/3rd of their bank account worths into the LN network.

Customer acquisition costs are insanely high for LN.

IT WILL NEVER WORK.
remember this when BTC crashes, maybe next time youll listen to a non-brainlet.

Kek what? It won't go below $5K

This whole thing was because an exchange was artificially inflating the price, but not by THAT much.

The rise up to $1k at least was fairly organic. The hype and renewed belief will keep it at $5k and it will probably go to $15k soon after the bitinfinitex bullshit goes away

why won't /biz/ get into CFDs? the leverage is like 10:1 on relatively stable and predictable shit like oil depending on your broker, I got in around august and already made a couple grand

I would be like 10 grand up from november if I didnt use CFD's to trade crypto lmao. I used plus500 like a retard and traded the cryptos on there and I bought £500 worth of ripple at 20 cents rip
