I didn't make money but perhaps the method is exploitable:
1) have rooted Android phone
2) install Titanium Backup
3) buy $1-$5 app
4) backup app with Titanium Backup
5) Refund and Uninstall app
6) Get your money back
7) Reinstall app from backup
8) Enjoy app you got for free
9) Redistribute on app warez installing services of your choice
maybe turn this into an illicit means of profit by selling pirated app packs?

Stupid Business Questions general: Hazzard County edition.

All random questions that don't deserve their own thread go in here.

I'll start us off:

>If you start two business that do the opposite, as long as you are being truthful when collecting da scrilla is it legal?
For example if I started a company around a fad diet that became popular, and then started another company that told people not to use the first diet and instead use this new one, as long as I'm being honest and not fucking anyone over, is this legal?

TSA exists and everyone has to deal with it, so the only people unaffected are private charters and if you can afford that you're not in the same income bracket as anyone the airlines ever speak to. I agree its terrible but its not a deciding factor for when I book a flight. It's fare prices and thats what has been destroying service.

It's expensive to run an airlines. When deregulation happened, the industry became a free market and the reality has shown it is not a good thing. Sure you can fly for under $100 but close-to-broke airlines are flying planes with safety violations and the interior is worse than a crackhouse in some cases.

The government stepped in because the airlines were deregulated for a time and cheap fare prices have driven the legacy carrier close to bankruptcy, if not directly so. Regional flights are not required to feed you.

Read about this http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/10/31/diverted-by-snowstorm-jetblue-passengers-stuck-on-tarmac-for-eight-hours/

That's what prompted the government to create the tarmac rule. They stepped in when the airlines failed to regulate themselves. The airline market was at its golden age when it was regulated and fares were decided with profit and safety in mind, not 'how many people can I jam in a 40 year old 737 so I can make an extra $1"

Let you all in on a little way to make some quick cash:

1. google "P&G contact us"
2. go to their contact form, tell them that you used their duracell batteries in your expensive product (tried up to $70, possibly able to get up to $100, failed to get $110), and the product stopped working because a few hours later the batteries exploded. Send the email, then let them get back to you. usually takes about 2 days. They'll send you an email saying that they're going to reimburse you for the full price of your product, in the form of a visa. Wait around 2 weeks, and you'll get it in the mail. You can only do them once or twice a year to a specific address, but you can send them to empty houses and get a shitload of money.

Anything less than $5k and you aren't going to have enough buying power to make any serious money.

The nice thing about the market is you can hold on to a stock as long or as short as you want to. It isn't like a CD where you have to leave it sit there and mature to get a return so you can flip your small starting capital over and over and profit from it countless times.

Here is what I did. Took $5k, invested in 3-4 different stocks at a time, targeted ~$10 stocks so I could buy 100 shares and have some skin in the game. Tried to pick stocks that were volatile and fluctuated frequently. Set a target of 5% gain. When the stock was up 5% I sold. Sometimes it took 3 hrs, sometimes 3 weeks.

Over the course of the last year I was able to flip the $5k 33 times with an average return of 5.76% per trade. The end result was turning the $5k initial investment into $14k in just one year thanks to the bull market.

Just bought these polished stones/crystals for bulk from some chinese supplier and put them on little cheap necklaces and sold them claiming all sorts of hippie benefits like healing powers, lucid dreaming, astral projection, stronger psychic powers, etc.

Wonder how many people on the metaphysical section on ebay are just like me and how many actually believe the crap they sell.

I believe the market for actual real ghosts is more profitable on ebay though. People just get an item call it possessed and put all this info about the "spirit" trapped in the item.

in runescape during the years 2006/2007 i would don my full saradomin armor and advertise drop parties. after getting an audience i would walk from the varrock banks to the dark wizards circle, where they would kill a few players. one day i got a guy with a green h'ween mask who i guess afked/lagged out.

there was also another time where you could tell players to take the cursed wine which would make a room full of chaos monks attack whoever did it. when they ran for the door, you would close the door repeatably until they die.

Well of course not. You've heard the expression 'too many chiefs and not enough Indians'. Stock trading is basically just making money from exploiting the labor of others. If everyone knew how to do it and how it all worked there wouldn't be enough laborers, just a lot of traders and no one doing any actual work.

I knew a guy that did pretty much this same concept. He went to a liquidation sale and bought up a ton of cheap pendants worth about 30c each. Then he created a website selling "charm pendants" that supposedly gave good luck and put them up for $10 each. Essentially they were the same pendants. He left a feedback section of the site for people to come back and give testimonials. Sure enough he had a dozen or so people coming back and reporting stuff like getting a raise or finding money or asking that cute girl out and her saying yes. He then showcased these testimonials on his site as proof that these charm bracelets actually gave good luck and his sales boomed. Last thing I heard he had ran out of inventory but was working with a manufacturer in China and was pulling in an extra 2-3k in profit every month.
