/biz/ park your crypto for a minute and let's talk index funds. I am currently deciding between Vanguard's VOT and VOO fund.
Looking to invest 10k and 250/month forward. 20-30 hold.
Thoughts, ideas, reccomendations?

Add some international exposure (20-50% of your portfolio).

Expect 2-5% real annualized 10 year returns from 100% equities, given current valuations.

Otherwise, make and save more money. Min-maxing just the right small cap-mid cap-large cap domestic-international mix gives you maybe a couple % a year. So doing that on a 100k portfolio's likely earns you less than job shopping or negotiating a raise.

VTI is the absolute best. I've held it for years and been absolutely satisfied. I've got a huge stack on the sidelines waiting for the market to crash (either this year or next year in my estimation). Then I will go balls deep on VTI as soon as the bottom hits.

What an absolute retard. It probably will go up 3x and crash to 2x, leaving you behind in the dust. Look at the huge bull run from the 1980s to the dot-com bust. If you were doing this in 1990 "waiting" for the next crash and picking it up at the absolute minimum you would have lost out on 4x returns.

You were right though, I had the symbol wrong, I was indeed choosing between VTI and VOO. VOO seemed too conservative.

You might need to dumb that last part down a little for me.
