ChainLink Crypto Fund filed this today:

https://disclosurequest.com/form/chainlink-crypto-fund-lp/0001728696-18-000001/?returnURL=

$2million into a ChainLink hedgefund, or staking pool maybe.

I’m trying to get info on the guys behind this to see how legit they are.

Andrew Hopkins.
Murat Armbruster.
Mark Wagner.

I would like to reach out to the collective autism powers of /biz/ right now. Show me what you can find.

>Andrew is an open source govtech entrepreneur, former government CIO and angel investor developing social ventures that use blockchain technology to build a more decentralized, egalitarian and democratic planet, including CoverUS, which aims to drive towards a more efficient and effective US health care system by putting patients in control of their own health data.

He serves as a Global Impact Entrepreneur in New Zealand's Edmund Hillary Fellowship, is President
of the DC-based good governance NGO Global Integrity, is a consultant with Civic Actions, and leads the New York Government Blockchain Association Meetup.

Previously, Andrew founded and built DKAN, the open source platform that runs hundreds of government open data sites worldwide, before selling the company behind it, NuCivic, to Granicus Inc.

From 2009-2011, Andrew was the first ever Chief Information Officer for the New York State Senate, where his team opened up thousands of datasets for the first time and published all of its code in the first government Github repository in the world. Andrew was selected by GovTech as the 2010 New York State Public Sector CIO of the Year and by Information Week as one of the "Government CIO 50."

A planetary geologist by training, Andrew previously co-founded the NASA CoLab program to increase efficiency and transparency at NASA by building new partnerships between NASA and external communities of practice.

As an entrepreneur, he previously co-founded and directed business development for GoodStorm (now Zazzle) and Trellon, and directed business strategy for CivicSpace Labs (Drupal non-profit).

Andrew has served as Advisor or Director for Global Integrity, OpenPlans, The Participatory Politics Foundation, Civic Commons, Netroots Nation (Yearly Kos), the Space Generation Foundation, Yenza, the New Organizing Institute, and Piston Cloud Computing.

Fuck, I just did it. Back comfy with 10k linkies. Fuck waiting for VEN and REQ to move again.

I've gone through this cycle so many times now. Buy LINK, get bored, sell, chase shitcoins, see LINK move, get scared and FOMO back in.

What I've noticed is, every time I'm holding LINK, even if I feel bored, at least I feel comfy. I know it's going to omega centauri one day or other. When I'm chasing other coins, I just feel insecure all the fucking time. Like the rockets I'm riding might run out of fuel or hit an asteroid at any moment and all my money might evaporate. Have to constantly monitor my portfolio and constantly feel the need to micromanage and day trade.

I might even make more money in the long term chasing scam ICOs and pumps, versus hodling LINK. But it's not worth the stress. No amount of money can replace the comfy I feel with my bag full of LINK. I don't have to check my folio every five minutes like a crack addict. I can actually sleep at night. I feel confident and secure. As Sergey is my witness, I will never sell these bags again.

trezor. the spectre/meltdown thing freaked me out enough to buy one. i was using a veracrypt partition on a usb, but there was a point where i copy/pasted my private key.

Makes sense. I wondered this in the past but had no way of knowing the actual inflow.
This puts it in perspective.
Going by that arbitrary number (actual inflow * 60 = marketcap), about 4-5 mil was invested into link. If we get an inflow of 2 fresh mil, that puts us at 360-420mil marketcap, which puts us back at ATH.

When Sergey first start discussing ChainLink in public, he would tell people what it's initially for, but he always branches out to his end goal for blockchain technology and ChainLink as a whole. He sees it as a way of enforcing equality around the world by implementing smartcontracts into the legal system.

He used an example of a poor person discovering oil and using a smart contract to enforce the payment agreement for that oil rather than a written agreement that someone could stomp all over. When he talks it's very obvious he's probably a communist that has a capitalist solution to inequality.

And everything in between.

Plus, you can always pool your Link to gain access to out-of-reach contracts, but make sure the smart contract terms for those pools are legit.

Ledger Nano S is the gold standard at the moment, I think. Pricey, but it's basically an airgapped PC with a fresh linux install that you can fit in your pocket. You can generate private keys on it and have 100% confidence that they haven't been exposed to the outside world.

>>7002134
Yeah there's the wallet words which will regenerate your wallets in the event of hardware failure. I'm a total spaz so I have my words split in two and secured in two locations both separate from where I keep my hard wallet. That way if any of the three locations burns down or gets robbed, I still have a full backup available to me.

Absolute best feature of a hard wallet though is it'll dissuade you from selling your LINKies on a whim.

To be honest, I keep trying to do the math.

1$ = 15k$
2$ = 30k$
4$ = 60k$
...
10$ = 150k$

By this model, I need LINK to hit roughly 40$ to make it (35k LINK here). Ideally I would have 100k link but neither do I have the funds for that atm nor the balls. I could liquidate my 45k REQ and get like another ~25k link. But that spreads my holdings to almost 100% LINK and I am not THAT confident yet.

There are some really good tutorials out there, including by Thomas Hodges.
Other than that, you mainly need information clients will want. In the case of banks, this typically means access to APIs.
Thankfully, the EU was gracious enough to literally force banks to open up their internal APIs to third parties this year; the very same year Chainlink is supposedly going live.
Yes, that is exactly as unbelievably serendipitous as it seems.

Alright any oldfag and even some of you new fags ought to remember the FUD about link being a security so exchanges won't touch it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Form_D

>"Commission rules require the notice to be filed by companies and funds that have sold securities without registration under the Securities Act of 1933 in an offering based on a claim of exemption under Rule 504, 505 or 506 of Regulation D or Section 4(6) of that statute. Commission rules further require the notice to be filed within 15 days after the first sale of securities in the offering. For this purpose, the date of first sale is the date on which the first investor is irrevocably contractually committed to invest. If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, it is moved to the next business day.
Privately held companies that raise capital are required to file a Form D with the SEC to declare exempt offering of securities. Many of these filings show investments in small, growing companies through venture capital and angel investors, as well as certain pooled investment funds."

>Regulation D governs private placements of securities. A private placement is a capital raising event that involves the sale of securities to a relatively small number of select investors. These investors are often accredited and can include large banks, mutual funds, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, hedge funds, and high and ultra high net worth individuals. Given that these investors usually have significant resources and experience, standards and requirements for a private placement are often minimal -- in contrast with a public issue.
