No good friend. Buy a metal detector and find old civil war shit as a hobby. Archaeology is like being a sociologist. That being said, if you can write a book or get lucky and find some truly old/rare shit you are good to go.

Speaking from personal experience, I have archaeologist friends earning pretty significant money in Dubai.

In general, however, archaeology will require you to go down the path of academia to make money in the field.
